I was referred by a customer who swore that this was the best thing next to home. Unfortunately. I don’t share her high regards. I purchased four different desserts, we were disappointed with them all. Maybe I expected too much because I do cook/ bake from scratch. The peach cobbler didn’t have a traditional dough crust, and there were very few peaches in the serving, it gave ‘dump cake’ vibes. The Peach cobbler pound cake was just a pound cake with juice from the peaches and a few peaches over it, the cake alone was dry. The Twix cake, my daughter liked it. I think I just reached the level of disappointment so the last two didn’t really matter. The chocolate cake with chocolate icing was okay. Probably the best one of the four. The owners were extremely friendly. The atmosphere was very clean. This place is very affordable but if you’re looking for something like your grandma would make… you better call your grandma and get her to make it because you won’t get it here. I’m sorry, but I have to be honest. I was referred by someone who wasn’t honest with me and as much as I support black owned businesses, I still have the expectation of quality. Because this was my first visit, I do plan to revisit it just to see if it was just a bad day. I’ve read the other reviews and all of them are pretty good. I just need to be certain that I have made the correct decision about this place. Lastly, if you do decide to visit. their sign is extremely small and the area looks brand new,...
Read moreIf you are a sweets fan, this is the place to go! I finally got a chance to stop in and pick up a few items to try out, and I'm honestly mad at myself for just getting around to it. The sweet potato cornbread is throw your fork down and look away good! I could honestly probably eat a slice of that a few times a week. Next time, I'll have my ice cream ready to eat with it. I also tried the cinnamon toast crunch and swiss roll cheesecake. Neither of them let me down. The swiss roll slice is a chocolate lovers dream, and the cinnamon toast crunch slice was perfect for breakfast. The cereal on it made me feel better about having it for breakfast. Whenever you get a chance, stop by if you are into sweets. I know...
Read moreWarning! If you're on a diet, watching your carbs, or don't like deliciousness in the form of dessert, don't bother stopping. After lunch in Killeen and we were looking for something local for dessert. A quick Google search and boom we found this hidden gem tucked away off Florence. I ordered the sweet tater cheesecake. It didn't make it home, I devoured that sucker. Hubby got the banana pudding, and we got our kiddo the oreo. Mr. Sweets knows what he is doing with his flavors. My sweet tater cheesecake wasn't overly sweet it was a perfect balance. If you're in the area, I highly recommend...
