Was disappointed by the owner being very rude. Food was good but the staff and owner trying to explain Thursday special was horrible. I'm not used to going for discounted food but I thought what the heck and try it. They said it had to be 27.95 and dummy me of course was thinking minimum price and that's on me but as rude as owner was that was just not a friendly customer focused response. I said could we do something with the mix up, the server knew I was asking for the 2 for 44 dollars and when I ordered why didn't they help me understand those were the wrong price points. But it didn't happen until the bill came out. I still tipped the server but I will never go there again. They don't have anything displayed or on a simple piece of paper to include with the menu to say 27.95 or less. For me, I am used to buying more than two things there is minimum price, not maximum price. I said to the owner at the register I didn't hear him or the servers say 27.95 or less and he snapped back, that if it was the minimum then everyone would order 2 lobster tails and I wouldn't have a restaurant. I said fine, paid and tipped and said I will not come here again. I would rather spend more and go to Mark's Eastside, Victoria's, even Cinder's is so much friendlier, even if some of those have a higher price for excellent food. Being rude to first time customers is not a way to keep a business going either. I have worked in food services, retail, bartender, and professionally and I would be fired being so rude, I guess one perk of being owner there are no consequences for...
Read moreWe were a party of 5 that came in around 7 and had to wait nearly 2 hours to have a table ready on a Thursday night. We waited for a huge table we didn't need to clear out while there was plenty of other seating for they were fairly slow. The wait staff barely acknowledged us. Just came up and asked what we wanted to order. Didn't offer to taking our drink order after we sat down. Ordered an appetizer that was over cooked and asked if we could get a dipping sauce with it and some plates, she just said there's some at the salad bar and walked away. Soup and salad bar came with most meals and one of us ordered just that. We walked up to the salad bar and nothing was replenished. After telling the host that it needed attention they took 20 minutes and only put out more lettuce. A burger was ordered and came out like a hockey puck. A petite tenderloin was supposed to be medium/ well done and came out pretty rare. Lasagna was said to taste like A can of chef boyardee, very bland. I ordered a small fish plate and it came with 2 small pieces of over cooked dried haddock and a burnt dried out baked potato, no other sides nor salad bar for $15.
We will not recommend or return there.
On a positive note their bartenders seem to know how to serve some fairly...
Read moreWe visited on a Wednesday night. Parking was good, nice entrance that leads straight to the bar. It was not busy at 815. We checked in and were told it would be a few minutes and we should wait in the bar. I didn't understand why we weren't seated since there were open tables, but we waited about 15 minutes and a waitress came out and took our order in the bar and told us which table to go sit at. We headed to the salad bar; two soups, cheese and onion dip, tuna salad, bagged lettuce, carrots, beets, eggs, mushrooms, cheese, cottage cheese, onion, croutons, sesame sticks, crackers, peperoncini, black olives, butterscotch pudding, and four dressings. Since we were there so late they were out of the prime rib, but my husband said the 8 oz. tenderloin was perfectly cooked and tasty. California blend vegetables were fresh, but were under seasoned. Hashbrowns were crispy and the cheese on top is American cheese, just as Jesus intended (anything other than slices of American cheese on hashbrowns is wrong). Served with a loaf of bread and butter. Waitress was fine, younger bartender was nice. Staff kept themselves busy. If you're looking for a traditional yet simple old school supper club,...
