Driving from SLO to Monterey and stopped at this location for a quick caffeine fix. We ordered ahead. The mobile app said our order would be ready by 3:40.
Got to the location at 3:38. Used the restroom(clean!), and went to the pick up station.
The lobby only had two other people waiting but the drive thru was lined up like Queen Elizabeth’s funeral procession.
Since the drive thru was as so long, people started filtering in. Ten minutes passed and our drinks weren’t ready (3:50), but at least a dozen other drinks were picked up by customers - both mobile and those that paid at the register.
Finally, twelve minutes after the mobile app predicted our drinks would be ready, one of the two was placed on the pick up station. I grabbed it and went back to my seat.
At 3:55, I finally decided to ask about the other drink. Sometimes it’s so busy at Starbucks, it may seem like you were in the front of the line when there’s two dozen mobile orders before yours.
When I inquired about the second drink, the barista turned around to the prep counter and sitting there was not only the empty cup with my name on it, but also the frap still sitting in the blender, never having been poured.
The gentleman that assisted me looked incredibly embarrassed through no fault of his own, as I hadn’t seen him the entire twenty minutes I sat in the coffeehouse. He apologized and quickly poured the drink.
Mistakes happen. We are only human. And this truly wasn’t some great inconvenience. But some advice? Simply pay attention to the guests in your lobby. As busy as you are, it’s easy to notice someone waiting an unusual length of time for their order.
Otherwise the staff was courteous and fast with everyone else’s drinks. Outside of this small oversight, this location was a well...
Read moreWould be great if there is a way to find out that this location only offers drive-thru in the late evening. There is no way to find out from Google, or from the mobile app. (This part is not the store's problem, but Starbucks in general.)
Now onto the store-specific....
We ordered a drink via the mobile app, but then found out there is a super-long drive-thru line and the indoor is close.
So, we started asking some questions from the drive-thru staff member. At first, the staff was trying to help and see if my drink had been made. Then, after a couple of more questions, the staff got impatient with us (probably because of the long drive-thru line) and called my wife 'crazy'.
Not sure if Starbucks offers any training to staff about customer service. But maybe there should be some emphasis on customer service training. At least it would be good for the staff's career to let her know that calling a customer 'crazy' isn't your ideal way to provide decent customer service in the business world.
This happened around 9pm on Saturday 23rd. So, if you're the manager or the owner who is reading this, a quick feedback is that you may want to run a quick refresh course on customer service with your staff member, or the...
Read moreTo review a chain is a waste of your time. Just get off your phone and enjoy the outdoors. Starbucks is a fine establishment for a decent cuppa coffee. The great thing about Starbucks is they pretty much always have Wi-Fi and always have sensible clean restrooms. Regardless of what negative stories you have seen on the news Starbucks coffee shops are a great place for everybody.
I generally refuse to give chain restaurants and shops a review, but in this case I feel I’ve got extra few minutes you might as well run the clock.
Kids like Starbucks because they have fruity fake milkshake type of drinks and blends. I am convinced people who love Starbucks hate real coffee. They just like the idea.
As for the price it’s just fine, overpriced cup of coffee for the quality. But it is comparable to everything else in this class and way better than gas station or nasty over burnt diner coffee.
Here is my trick, medium sized nonfat café mocha four...
