Okay, I do love ordering from here. Dining in, it’s hit or miss. I’d like to point out, my review should not reflect the restaurant as a whole, because up till last night, I’ve never been unsatisfied. But last night, Denny’s, whoever was working last night May 15th around 8:30-10:30pm… let me just say, for one thing, you guys NEED to have more staff. The girl was busy after my coworkers and I came in. Again, they were only busy about 15 minutes after we sat down. The girl did get slammed, but as someone who has been in customer service and food service, she did not handle it well. You could clearly tell she was annoyed, stressed, and overwhelmed. Which I understand, it was packed with a lot of large parties. However, that’s no excuse to ignore your other tables. Again, we came in when only one other table was there and there was only 3 of us. I fully understand being busy and being a little slow to check back on people, but she never once checked up on us and we let her know when we ordered, we wanted dessert. I kept the dessert menu specifically so I could order later. She walked by, asked if we needed a box and we told her no, but that we’d like to order dessert. She seemed irritated by that and proceeded to ignore us for the next 30-45 minutes. Whether she heard us or not, she should’ve came back to at least check on us. She went to every other table, never came to us, kept her back to us and never looked our way. She also never brought the check and while yes we could go up front, usually they always bring the tab to the table. You’d think she would’ve realized that we were not leaving for a reason. Oh, and we weren’t the only people to notice this. We had to go up to the front and she assumed we were going to leave but we told her we wanted dessert but now for take out. I could see the irritation on her face but I mean, she could’ve easily just came to our table. It also took her forever to get the large parties waters. I think, maybe 10 minutes? We waited in total for her to check up on us till when we finally got our dessert, was about an hour. We all just got off work at a restaurant, we understand busy but that was not okay. We showed up around 8:30-8:45 and left at 10:45ish. If she’s that overwhelmed and annoyed with customers, either don’t have her working evenings or have more staff onsite. We felt bad for her at first but when you can clearly tell someone is ignoring you all because you want to order something else, we no longer felt bad for her. I’ve never had a bad experience with Kingsburg Denny’s, I normally just mobile order my breakfast and the morning staff has always been amazing! I rarely go in the evenings but I can say, y’all need to fix something. I’ve been a manager and while I understand scheduling around peak and non peak hours, and that last night may have been unexpected, it’s not hard to realize the Swedish Festival is this weekend. May 15-17th and that you guys are the only place open past 9pm, that maybe you’d get slammed busy. I don’t believe the lady to be a bad employee or person, she did seem really nice but she couldn’t handle the rush last night alone and unfortunately it showed to many customers. One lady even kept coming back to the front to order their drinks and other items. Denny’s, I love you but y’all gotta rethink your staffing schedule on busy nights and look into what’s going on in town. You are the only place besides fast food that’s open late, y’all need more staff on busy weekends, event weekends in town. If you are short staffed and can’t have more staff working, then maybe close earlier, do split shifts with the staff you have or the managers need to step up and work nights. I don’t know, just my advice from someone who covered for all my team’s needs. But last night, was just not it. Again, this shouldn’t reflect the restaurant as a whole because I’ve had little to no issues when I mobile order, but again, dining in is a...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped here Saturday night (about 11:30pm) and were super hungry. David the server was so friendly and greeted us with a big smile. We could tell he was busy so we waited patiently. He came over and took our drink order. About 5-10 mins after that he came to our table to tell us that it was time for the cook (Chuy) to go home and the new one still hadn’t shown up yet. “I don’t have a cook to cook your food, I’m so sorry”. We could tell that he felt terrible as he was telling us but when he saw our faces he quickly offered to cook us dinner if it was easy. We agreed and he happily took our order and went off to cook our food. About 10-15 mins later he came out with our food. I asked if he made it and he said “no. The cook stayed behind just to took your food”. What a guy! Both David and Chuy went above and beyond that night. They both made sure that we had our food and gave us some amazing service. This place has some great people working for them with some great work ethic. I hope the owners see this and give both of those guys a pat...
Read moreDenny's is always a great place to go you don't have to dress up it's casual and comfortable and for the most part the staff is friendly, I'm actually updating my recent post, which is a 1star, went last night and it was a good experience, we had to wait at least 7 minutes to get seated, the food was good, but my husband wanted another glass of ice tea but our waiter was nowhere to be found because he apparently walked out during his shift we had to physically get up and go to the cashier to pay without the tab being brought to us and I actually think we were over charged but it wasn't the cashier fault she was turning people away on top, you planinly see she was stressed and tired, and you could see that they were under staffed, the place wasn't busy I will not go back till they get more help especially in the evening, they also need to fix the ladies restroom as well. Hopefully the franchise owner will read this and fix the issues, but I will say kiddos to the cashier that was holding it together the best...
