My family eats gluten free, not by choice, and going out to eat for us stinks. Not only is finding places with gluten free food difficult, but ordering with all the substitutions needed is embarrassing, and of course it is also very risky medically due to cross contamination. This Sonic is actually one of our favorite places to go, not only because the staff works so well with us on all the changes we have to make on their menu items, but largely because none of us have ever even gotten sick from cross contamination. We hate having to go places and deal with the frustration of staff hearing our list of changes while ordering, and never once here have we evvvver felt irritation from the staff here; actually it's been quite the opposite. Not only are they friendly in helping us make the order fit our needs, but they must go out of their way in making it in a safe manner, because there's no way in the world we'd never have gotten sick by now if they weren't. When we ever decide we just want to go out to eat this is one of the first places that come to mind because we don't have to ever worry about attitudes, or sickness, and the food is great! I want to also clarify that all this "help" I am praising the workers here on is not only when they have nobody else to worry about and/or when it's slow; a lot of the time they are actually pretty busy, but still take the time to get our order right, and don't make us feel rushed with it at all. On top of all these wonderful qualities of this Sonic I just listed, they a also have earned 10 stars with all the basic things people enjoy as well with fast food locations- cleanliness, delivery speed, accuracy of order, ect.
Extra note- with Covid and all, the set up of Sonic in general works great! We have 7 kids, one being a baby on oxygen, and we feel so trapped with how safe we have to be. Sometimes going to this Sonic is the only time we get to get out and about so we don't kill...
Read moreUsually order on app, couldnât find the option to add Buffalo sauce to popcorn chicken so drove from Selma to order there. Got there and truck in drive thru wasnât moving so decided to park in a stall. Activated the red button. Order screen stated âred button activated. We will be with you shortlyâ. Iâve been in management most of my life and customer service, so of course I took note that it was busy. After 15 min of sitting there, I yelled to a girl attending to the car a couple of stalls away. I said âexcuse me Iâve been waiting for someone to take my order and no one has helped meâ and she said âoh , the stalls close at 9â I then asked her âhow are we (as customers) supposed to know this? Then I asked if the drive thru was open and she stated yes. I go to the drive thru and the same girl who I was talking to previously answered at the drive thru & stated she was the manager & refused service to me. I wasnât rude until she denied me. In our prior conversation all I did was ask her a question. Anyhow, after 45 min wasted, getting no food, I have 1 question and 1 statement. How are customers supposed to know youâre stalls close at 9 if the screen says âRed button activated, weâll be right with youâ? As for your âmanagerâ not once did she apologize that I was there patiently waiting. She thinks because she spoke to me in a non offensive way that she was right. However, if she canât accept responsibility for something that wasnât my fault initially, she shouldnât be in management. She didnât express any sympathy that I sat there with no communication from anyone! If I was a rude customer like she said I was, I wouldnât have been so understanding of waiting there 15 min. She went to the car next to me twice and had to have realized I pulled up and not once bothered to tell me the stall was closed until I...
Read moreOcean water is good, the chili dogs not so good, the hotdogs tasted old or reheated. The girl at the speaker was either hard of hearing or distracted since there was no one at the window and I had to repeat my order twice and kept getting asked what was that when I asked for no onions on chili dogs in which I was rudely told "they don't come with onions"which is good to know but I felt like it was more of a "make me feel stupid" type of remark. You can tell the employee was frustrated and I am sure my annoyance was apparent the last time I had to repeat my order. When we were at the window my boyfriend had whistled to someone he knew that was walking and even explained to the employee it wasn't for her when she came to window, but the fact that she wasn't busy and had some random male employee hand the order to us was a clear indication she was annoyed. I worked in the drive thru for a fast food restaurant for many years before and I do understand it's easy to get flustered when busy I also know that providing good customer service and being efficient is important as well. We were not being difficult and yes I was annoyed that she had me repeat my order numerous times but I do feel that her being frustrated could have been prevented had she been paying attention. If one car in drive thru is too much for her to be friendly than maybe the kitchen or a job where she is not working with customers directly is more suited for her. We all have bad days but you are not supposed to show it when you are working. I personally feel that since the $20 a hr for fast food workers has been required many of the employees are just rude (different food...
