Our experience tonight was terrible. My husband and I took our granddaughter to the kingsport location. We arrived at 6:10and was put on the waiting list. We sat and waited and waited. People were coming in and getting called before us. I finally went up 45min later and the girl blamed another girl for not calling us yet. We were told to stand in line. Again people were getting called before us. We felt invisible. One observant sweet waitress noticed we kept getting overlooked and took us to a table. We ordered. Cokes came. App came. Dinner never came. Finally at 8:30 we beckoned the manager over and told her to just cancel our order. We were done waiting. She said she understood and went to cancel it. 5minutes later our waitress shows up with our meal. We told her we were waiting on the manager and that the manager was aware we canceled and were leaving. She then started to take the meal back to the kitchen. The manager pops up and says"Are you sure you don't want it..it's piping hot"! We said. Ok fine. By now we were starving, tired, frustrated and grandaughter was restless. We instantly regretted not leaving when we said we were. The meal was anything but "piping hot"!. My husband's ribs were a Luke warm slab of mostly fat. And they gave him mashed potatoes versus the loaded he asked for. The corn was also luke warm at best! My overdone porkchop was tasteless. Applesauce was warm versus cold. And both our dishes of mashed potatoes were literal salt licks. We couldn't and didn't eat that. We have no idea how our grandaughters meal was..she was tired and fussy and just wanted to go home. She barely touched hers. The manager seemed to understand our terrible experience and took off $20. Tho we left feeling she should have just comped it all after our experience. Lesson learned....
Read moreDue to work constraints, my family eats out nearly every day, and Texas Roadhouse in Kingsport is a frequent dining spot. This restaurant provides delicious meals at a reasonable price, but there is room for improvement.
First, the lobby area has been renovated and enhanced, however, one staff member's attitude has not changed. I am referring to a redhead who works at the host station and is typically present around in the afternoon into evenings. I believe that their first name begins with an L. This individual never greats people in a friendly tone and CURTLY instructs us to "step over there" into line when we are already in line behind everyone else. Yesterday, while we were standing across the aisle (in line) from the hostess booth (which is now elevated so they can look down on us), this person rudely pointed to the two-foot gap between us and the people in front of us in line and commanded that we stand there. The place was not busy, so no need for us all to squeeze up to each other. Seriously? Does it make them feel better to command when it is unnecessary? Have they never heard of giving others personal space? Have they no other tone than that of a military commander barking orders? How about a smile?
The other option we frequently utilize from this restaurant is takeout. However, it is baffling how little butter is included in takeout orders. Each time we order, the amount gets smaller and smaller. Today takes the cake, as there was approximately HALF a tablespoon of butter for FOUR rolls, examine the images for yourself. We have also received this tiny quantity of butter when baked potatoes are ordered. Texas Roadhouse can...
Read moreWe have eaten here often and normally have a good dining experience, but we visited 6/14/22 in evening and have no desire to ever eat here again. We were seated right away and hostess was very friendly. The waitress took our drink/appetizer order within a couple minutes and was very friendly. The issue came after our dinner order, I noticed it was so warm in there. I asked the waitress and she said the air conditioner was broken...okay (there were no signs posted at the door to let customers know and we were not told upon being seated). Our appetizer and sides started coming to the table and my husband ended up biting into what seemed like a small piece of wood (about 1 inch in length) We told the waitress and showed her and she said she would relay to kitchen manager. Nothing else was said at that moment. I figured she would offer a replacement or something. By the time our entree's came to the table, I was already feeling bad from the heat so we could not eat. We asked for to go boxes. We were miserable. When the waitress brought our ticket, my husband asked if she told the kitchen about the object in his chili and she said yes and the kitchen manager had offered something else. We did not get told this until we were getting ready to leave. We assumed the complaint had went ignored. I understand mistakes happen, etc. BUT I think if they are experiencing a/c issues during a high heat warning in the area, THEY SHOULD POST A WARNING AT THE DOOR! I was sick upon leaving and wasn't there long enough to actually eat our meal. What if a customer has major health issues? GREED!! when they do not put customers...
