Fresh AF Bakeshop — Restaurant in Kingston

The shop is cute, but the goodies are just average. The first time I went in, I got a croissant, along with a decorated sugar cookie and a brownie. The icing on the cookie was thicker than the cookie itself. The brownie was nothing special, taste wise. And the croissant was stale. I'm not talking a little bit stale, I mean like a brick, stale. Now, I saw that it was sitting out on the stack when I bought it, but honestly, I didn't know waiting 2 hours to eat it meant that I was going to be trying to bite into the likes of a stone. Of course, by then, the shop was closed and was going to be closed for the next few days, so instead of breaking a tooth, I ended up just tossing it in the trash. I tried to go back in this past week, the first day they were supposed to be open (Thursday), but they were closed for some remodeling. Why they didn't do that on the regular days closed makes me scratch my head... but that's just me. So I ended up going back a couple of days later, hoping for some new, fabulous updated setting or more counter area to hold more goodies. Maybe a larger refrigerated section, something visible to see why they were closed on a business day, they were supposed to be open (they have limited days they're open anyway). It wasn't to be, though. I couldn't see anything different after, from before. The selection is still limited, and the prices are higher than I expected for the quality of the food. I wish I posted this sooner than later. But this review is for the quality of flavor, service and convenience from Fresh AF & their staff. I ordered an amazing Italian almond flavored cake for my son’s welcome home party and myself along with guests were so impressed by how large and rich the cake tasted. This cake was ordered in 2022 and a whole 2 years later, my guests and family members still reminisce about it at every gathering. Upon arrival, I noticed the bakery is fully loaded with different options for food, sweets and cute merchandise. The ease of pick up was beyond my expectations. The owner herself carried the cake into my vehicle. If you ask me, that’s AMAZING customer service. I’m a small business owner and mom of multiple children so I know life isn’t always easy or perfect but Taryn really holds it together and pulls through for her place. Finally made It to Fresh AF bakeshop in Plaistow, and what an absolutely delicious experience!!! We got there at 10:20 Friday 7/5 morning and the parking lot was packed, but the line inside moved super quickly! But there’s nothing wrong with waiting in line at a bakery, it just helps you make your decision lol! Especially such a well decorated one! Today my partner and I got a small “house blend” iced coffee, a medium iced tea flavored with dragonfruit, a cannoli, and 3 macarons: watermelon, s’mores, and ice cream sundae! All absolutely delicious and barely made it out the parking lot un devoured! The macarons all were so soft, and the individual fillings packed a huge flavor paired with velvety softness! The cannoli had a pudding-like texture to the ricotta filling, which I was a huge fan of. Looking forward to trying more in the future!
