Stillwells Ice Cream — Restaurant in Plastow

The kids working at this location lack enthusiasm entirely. I'm not expecting them to be rolling balls of sunshine, but courteous and not being openly unhappy to be there isn't that much to ask for.

I frequent this location because it's quite close to my home, but I'm growing tired of their customer service and I think I'm going to the Beach Plumb from now on. I searched unsuccessfully to find a way to contact the owners and air my grievances, but they have absolutely no way to contact them excepting the store phone number.

This evening, I went into the store to pick up some ice cream for myself and my partner, and entered the store directly behind a group of 4 people. While one employee took the order of the group in front of me, the other was finishing the couple in front of them. The girl finished taking the order of 4 items, and proceeded to start making it. The boy finished the ice creams for the couple, handing them to them directly next to me. There's no possibility that he didn't see me. However, rather than wait on me, he instead ignored me, and went and started helping the girl make the ice creams for the other order. Had he taken my order and started working on it, it may have taken a minute or two longer to finish the other order, but they wouldn't have blatantly ignored another customer. When I asked them to take my order, they were surprised and mildly offensive that I would ask for service. This incident isn't a huge deal, but it's aggravating and illustrates just how much they lack basic common sense and customer service skills.

The one star is for the ice cream, but they don't make it, it's Richardson's, so it can be...

Wife bought ice cream for the kids and ordered a Chocolate PB oreo and banana milkshake for me.

Gave me a vanilla ice cream based pb oreo and banana milkshake. Vanilla obviously made it a horrible combination.

Went back in and told them the staff what was ordered and what I got. Staff proceeded to blame my wife, said "She said chocolate....but then she said pb oreo". They smirked, murmered and made no attempt to offer any kind of customer service to make the shake better, which made me want to leave immediately. I told them that the shake was awful, left it and told them to do whatever they want with it. Then I returned to my business.

The utter disregard and dismissive approach coupled with the mumbling of the staff lead me to leave this review. I would not leave my business in the hands of people like this.

Go hungry! They don't have "small" portions. Oh, they have small as an option on the menu for some items, but those are still HUGE servings! A "kiddy" size is the size of most places "large". And the flavor of the ice cream is amazing. Rich, creamy, smooth... everything you're looking for in an indulgent treat at the end of your evening. They aren't shy with the toppings if you're looking for a sundae, either. The shake/frappe (as it's known in the northeast) has the correct amount of smoothness to make it up the straw, without hurting yourself or giving yourself brain freeze, too. I do wish they were open a little later, but I can't even take away a star for that, because everything else is so great, it outweighs that one negative, in my opinion. Go see...
