First of all Iâd like to say Iâm only leaving this review because I love the place! Atmosphere is awesome, staff is caring and the food is great! But Iâd like to leave some feedback on the service. So to mention I work at a super busy steakhouse on the Riverwalk that makes about 40k in sales a day being there seeing how things work I have came to understand the restaurant business and there are a few things Iâd like to point out here. So I ordered 3 tacos and my girlfriend 1 we placed our order and 10 minutes later they came back and told us they were out of tripas (her taco) then brought my tacos and my girlfriend had to wait another 15-20 minutes to get her plate because the cooks didnât communicate with the foh that they was out of tripas by that time I had been done with my food. I saw tables dirty for 4-10 minutes at a time so people would walk in and couldnât sit. Also saw people come to register and order the food because no one attended to them. Saw that dishes were running out so the gave my girlfriend a plastic fork. They did try to make it up and discount our bill as well give us a desert we really appreciate the staffs efforts and will continue supporting this business. Please donât let this feedback stop you from coming here because eventually after being open for a couple weeks they will get it together as long as they get a plan and rotation. I also saw no one taking charge kind of everyone doing there own thing so that can cause the kitchen to crash and the staff to panic. Anyways the food was great and I hope to see this restaurant make it!
Side note : to many big tables I think there will be more room if you add some smaller tables also. Oh and Iâd recommend throwing a plastic cover over the table because the cloth will eventually become very dirty and become a cross contamination problem.
Thanks and love yâallâs restaurant hope it strives and takes off...
Read moreI wasn't going to say anything, but they've done this to us many times. Once, they gave me a takeout meal that was super salty. We went back and they told me that the only thing they could replace was the meat because I had already touch the rice and beans and if I wanted more they would have to charge me for the entire meal. I told them to leave it that way. The second time we ordered some enchiladas and we ordered them beef and they brought us chicken. I told my daughter she couldn't eat it because she's allergic to chicken. And then she left. When she came back, she told me that if I wanted to change them, they would have to charge me. I told her it's your mistake, not mine. She asked you for beef, and you didn't write down the order. We have found hair, yes hair!! in the takeout water thermoses and in the food. They make a mistake, and then they are not good at making the customer feel better. On the hair day, I told them. It's not that I don't want to pay, I hadn't even touched the food. Terrible...
Read moreThis place is an absolute hidden gem! The food is authentically Mexican, with fresh, homemade flour tortillas that are soft, light, and full of flavor. The chips are incredible â crisp, airy, and not oily at all â they taste freshly made, and I couldnât stop eating them. The biggest surprise was the salsa: traditional, chunky, and perfectly seasoned. I finished the entire bowl without even realizing it!
You can tell someone who truly knows their craft is in the kitchen â it tastes like a professional chefâs touch with the heart of a home-cooked meal. Grandma would be proud.
I ordered the #10 â carne guisada with rice, beans, avocado, and salad. Normally Iâm not a fan of brown gravy since it reminds me too much of pot roast, but they nailed it here by using their orange enchilada sauce instead. The flavor was incredible â no salt needed! I added just a bit of pepper because I love it, but honestly, it was perfect as-is.
And those flour tortillas⊠wow. Light, fluffy, with just a hint of lard â you can taste the love and care in every bite.
A true hole-in-the-wall treasure that delivers authentic, soulful Mexican food.
