Finally made it to Honey Bees for some biscuits and gravy along with a breakfast Sammie. The 2 guys working the counter were warm and welcoming when I walked up. Of course, I wanted to try the biscuits & gravy as it's one of my go tos at any breakfast restaurant. The gravy was very delicious as I selected the classic sausage gravy. The reason I state classic is they have 3 choices of gravy. Yes, you heard me right 3 homemade gravies to select from for your huge biscuits with gravy. Sausage gravy, spicy sausage gravy, or vegan choice mushroom gravy. My only criticism would be to cut the biscuit in half, pour some gravy over it, then put the top back on and pour gravy over the top. The reason I say that is there needs to be more gravy as it's a huge biscuit, and I needed more gravy. Otherwise, it was too much biscuit and not enough gravy. Now they had Sammie, so I definitely had to try one. I selected the egg, cheese, and sausage Sammie. Nuw you get a choice on the type of biscuit for your Sammie. Love that they have different choices on their items. The biscuit choices are honey glazed or Midwest rancher, which is a spicy biscuit. You know me, I had to try the Midwest rancher biscuit. I haven't tried it yet, that will be breakfast or lunch tomorrow. I can tell you ita huge as are all their biscuits. My choice was egg, sausage, and cheese on the Midwest rancher biscuit. I looked at it and really smart the cook the egg in a square shape with great seasoning, sausage patty was big too boot and cheese was nice & fresh not a slice. So tomorrow, I will update you on the Sammie. Prices are definitely reasonable for these huge biscuit dishes, for sure. Also, there is inside or outdoor seating. Nice stop while you're out shopping for a quick bite to eat there or for take home, which was my preference. Need to take my little brother there so he can try out the tasty, delicious, huge biscuits. I really enjoy supporting local businesses for such fabulous...
Read moreI visited this establishment about a week & a half ago for the 1st time after desiring to go there since I first read that they were opening. After finally finding the place I visited & the interior was cozy, not as large as I was expecting, but it had a nice decor & nice homey, kind of southern country atmosphere. I was a lil' surprised at the selections & variety on their menu & the prices were very modest & reasonable( 1 Biscuit is actually a meal). I decided to try the Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Biscuit & also a French Toast Biscuit. The Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Biscuit was verygood & filling. The Biscuit was fluffy, fall apart, wonderful. Like a piece of Heaven in ur mouth. If I had any complaints they would be more Cheese on the sandwich( U can never go wrong with Cheese) & the Sausage was very bland. I would've liked a more savory flavored Sausage or maybe a Maple-Brown Sugar flavored Sausage... The French Toast Biscuit wasn't what I was expecting, although it had the consistency of French Toast, it didn't have the French Toast flavor through & through. The Cinnamon/Sugar topping was excellent on top, but I felt that the overall Biscuit needed that topping throughout the Biscuit or at least a Cinnamon swirl... I am looking forward to visiting Honey Bee's again soon & also looking forward to seeing if they add even more creativeness to their menu Ex: Peaches & Cream Biscuit, Banana Pudding Biscuit, Funnel Cake Biscuit Am curious if there are any plans in the future to have a Chicken Fried...
Read moreI was disappointed. The person taking orders was "politely rude" to my family. The undertone of what the staff member said to us was very rude, but the words them self were not.
There was no high chair in the building. "It was currently being fixed." A restaurant with about 70 seats total should have more than 1 high chair.
I could not order a side of sausage for my daughter - literally, the only thing on the menu she would eat. "Sausage (buy itself) was not prepared at the moment". We were there at 10:30am, middle of business hours.
The breakfast sandwiches are pre-assembled and then warmed when you order. My body does not handle cheese well, and I could only order the bacon egg biscuit sandwich without cheese. (Because sausage was not prepared when we were there). The bacon was overcooked and way too crispy for a sandwich. It also completely fell apart (... the cheese must be used to reinforce the sandwich! Ha!)
I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant and I think I will give it one more try - sometime when I don't have my daughter with me. Hopefully, my next...
