We went for a late night (+1⭐) meal after seeing the musical "Guys and Dolls" presented by the Kirkwood Theater Guild at the Robert G. Reim Theatre. (The show was fabulous! 🤩)
This Imo's indoor dining area is quite large compared to other Imo's I've visited. They also have some sidewalk and patio seating as well! (+1⭐)
At that late hour, we were the only dine-in customers. When we walked in, we placed our order at the counter, picked a table and sat down.
Our Provel Bites appetizer came out quickly. The tasty bites were fried, then sprinkled with parmesan cheese and came with a side of warm marinara. The bites were hot and delicious! Enough for 2, but not quite 3. (+1⭐)
The pizza arrived soon after and was piping hot from the oven. 😍(+1⭐)
Trying to use the flimsy, plastic silverware to cut those first scalding bites was impossible! 😟 The knife and fork bent like they were made of rubber.
I can understand the use of paper plates, styrofoam cups, and plastic utensils to keep labor costs down; but the utensils should have the strength to cut the pizza served as the main business.
Unable to cut the pizza with the flimsy utensils, the first few bites of pizza wound up with most of the piping hot topping coming off all at once, including the scalding hot melted cheese lava burning your mouth, lips, and chin. 😫
After past experiences here, we had jokingly talked about keeping a set of decent silverware for each of us in the glove compartment of our car for when we eat at Imo's. Now, I'm seriously thinking about it. 🤔
Please upgrade the quality of your plastic silverware and I'll gladly up my rating. (-1⭐)
After the pizza cooled down a bit more and we were able to eat it normally, and we enjoyed some truly phenomenal pizza! (+1⭐)
Imo's Deluxe pizza was full of fresh vegetables, crispy bacon, a mildly spicy sausage, and that famously delicious provel cheese...truly a treat for the palate!
The BBQ Chicken pizza made delectable with chicken chunks, onions, provel cheese, and a bold, deep brown BBQ sauce that gave it a little kick.
A really great tasting meal anytime of day!
Diner's Tip: Imo's is moderately expensive for pizza ($$), but this is not your run-of-the-mill pizza...it's worth the price for an occasion...bring silverware,...
Read moreMy wife was trying to use her rewards in the app and something happened and the app froze and the points were “used”. She called in to see what happened and tried to explain to the lady what happened and she didn’t really care to listen. Her comments were “ you have only ordered twice”- “you have no points”- “you have ordered through Crestwood, call them and maybe they can help.” Ended up placing the order anyway as we just returned from vacation and specifically wanted Kirkwood IMO’s. Customer service at this location has gone downhill. I will be hesitate to order from the location. No manager stepped in when I was talking to the gentleman at the register and I’m sure they heard me as I heard them complaining about a family that had loud kids and how they wanted them to just leave! I have worked in the industry for 12 years and I know kitchen talk. Don’t talk so customers can hear! I will say, the gentleman that rang me up, took $5 off the total and I let him know my frustrations weren’t with him and thanked him. Hopefully this imo’s can improve how they operate! Will continue to go to Crestwood as advised by the young lady working for the...
Read moreThis is the WORST Imos in St Louis. I've given them three strikes, and now they're out. Not only can they screw up a salad (which I ordered the last time; you get lettuce & cheese. No crackers, croutons, nothing.) now I've discovered they can screw up a turkey club sandwich. The bacon on the turkey club was like beef jerky--the bread was stale tasting and nasty and they use the same bread for sandwiches that they use for their garlic cheese bread. It was like eating a sandwich on a hot dog bun--disgusting. The last time a few girls from the office ordered from here, we asked to pay by credit card and when the delivery person got here, he said "oh you can call the store to use the card and you can put my tip on there too". Really? How did you know I was going to tip you? Although I've always been a good tipper, that should be my option. The fact that he smelled like a pack of cigarettes and looked like he needed a bath was just a sidebar. Not sure who runs this place, but I wouldn't order from the Kirkwood Imos if it was...
