Kissimmee bakery is that place that locals know is there and is really good, like as soon as you get the first bite you feel like your abuela ( grandmother) is going to walk from the kitchen and tell you " dios te bendiga" ( god bless you) and give you a kiss in the forehead. Not only that, the prices are good, as a matter of fact i feel like this place is where the locals come to eat in an affordable place and don't want to spend the extra money in other places that serve the same food on a higher price range and with not even half of the flavor. Atmosphere is dated, very old and is completely understandable to Me, in order to keep food cost down, but it appears to be a very clean restaurant. The servers treat you like family, in a way that they will ask you... How are the kids doing? or chat with you so they can get to know you , even though their customer base are loyal to this place. They treat you with love and are grateful for your visit. Be warned that the part of the bakery is almost gone and they focus mainly on only their great food. I consider Kissimmee bakery a hidden treasure, one of those places that are unfortunately disappearing due to rising food cost and the to go place to feel...
Read more1 of our favorite places to go with fa., friends, business, or just the 2 of us, since they opened in the 1980's! Our favorite waitress, who by now I'd friend, is Maritza! Our sis & bro come from Fort Lauderdale, at least 1 a mo. just in time to meet us for a meal on a Fri., & put in their big order, of mundongo, to pick up on Sat. & take back home for themselves, & others. They usually take between 10-15 big cartons. They even bring a cooler, just for that purpose. It's said they make the best mondongo! We brought our oldest son & wife there, & they had to put 2 tables together just for the four of us. They kelped ordering food to taste, until they just couldn't eat anymore, then they ordered to take. It was actually funny, everyone in there was laughing, & they aren't big people. Go eat for yourself, prices...
Read moreMy husband and I enjoyed our recent visit. This is a great little mom and pop restaurant. We both had the Papusa and would highly recommend it! The horchata was incredibly delicious ! So very good. The prices were also very affordable! The best part of the whole experience was Roberto. He made us feel at home. We had never experienced such hospitality by a restaurant. He helped explain the menu as we have never had this cuisine. He explained how most people eat it. If it wasn't so far, we would make this place a regular spot. You can tell the people who come here are treated like family. Roberto spoke to everyone as if they were his family. He is the most kind and genuine soul. This made our experience!
I encourage you to try this place. It will...
