Capt'n Franks — Restaurant in Kitty Hawk

After driving past here one too many times, I had to stop by and see what the rave was about. There was always a line whenever I was just passing by. So this time, I decided to give Capt'n Franks a try.

The Food: The food here, were just okay. Nothing to tell home about. Just quick, fast service that gets the job done if you're craving a good hot dog. I went with the Texas Dog, Kraut Dog and the Chili Cheese Dog. All of them tasted good. However, I did order a side of hush puppies. And, those were awful. No flavor in the batter whatsoever and no amount of dipping sauce could have saved it.

The Service: Service was fast and easy. Wait in line, order at the front and they'll either deliver to your table or call your number.

The Atmosphere: Nice beach vibes that gives a feeling like this is a hidden gem or a must-go too spot. Cool place with seating indoors and on the roof as well.

Overall, a 3/5. I understand they're hot dogs, but there wasn't much of a wow factor I saw. Definitely give this a place a try though! All the combinations looked and...

The hot dogs were good but fries were cold. The worst part was the service. We had a big crew. I had everything we needed circled on the menu, when I gave my order the young blonde had an attitude because she wasn’t listen to what I ordered and I needed to correct her a few times, she got frustrated and had an older lady take over. I explained that she wasn’t listening and I tried to give her our order. The older woman said she wasn’t there at the time of my order and I was being rude (I guess I’m not supposed to explain myself) and I should zip it, with a hand gesture across her lips. Of course that made me angry. I told her that she didn’t need to be rude that I was a paying customer, her tone changed after that. Needless to say our entire order was wrong bland and cold. We won’t be back again!!! We usually stop there for lunch before heading to our rental. We don’t need to start our vacation out with someone chewing me out! Thanks...

I don't know what all these people are raving about, I came from indiana for the month, my friends who live here saw hot dog stands in a magazine Called our state.we drove from emerald isle to kitty hawk stoped at bills dogs in Washington (awsume dogs) then to Franks, well I don't know how they got in this book, I'm giving one star for one dog, the rst of us had terrible dogs, chilli sauce had no taste bland as hell. Baha dog was supposed to have enchilada and cherdded chedder,well i got the same cheese that was poured on my fries, really?? And how the hell can a place. Be put in a state magazine when they don't even k ow what the state hot dog has on it!!! They have no idea what a Chicago dog comes with, they were out of half the beers and only had one can of the one my friend needed.
