Love this location but beware ordering online and using door dash through the Applebee’s website. While tracking our order we noticed that the delivery driver had changed three times! Our estimated delivery time came and went, with no food, and then suddenly we got a notification that our order had been canceled. So we called the store. Staff on site answered promptly and were very friendly. They already knew about our issue and had been tracking it on their end as well. The food was picked up by the first driver (Willis) and then two other drivers did actually show up for the same order! A manager at the restaurant told us to contact Door Dash customer service and in the mean time he would be calling his regional manager to investigate further. All very reasonable. Door Dash customer service was useless! They couldn’t tell us anything about the driver or where the food was. Since the order had been canceled there was no record of it on our Door Dash app and they continued to point this out to us while reading off of very obviously pre-written customer service scripts. After talking to our third person and being offered a half hearted excuse about drivers sometimes running into traffic issues they told us that we would have to contact the Applebee’s to get our money refunded! Luckily at this point we had already ordered a pizza and when we called Applebee’s back they were already issuing us a refund. The mystery remains however, and I suppose we will never find out what happened to our first attempt at lunch. One hopes Willis is sitting on the side of the road somewhere between Washington Pike and North Mall Road with a flat tire, enjoying a medium rare Bourbon Street Steak and appetizer sampler with fajita roll ups. The moral of this story is, I suppose, when you’re ready to eat good in the neighborhood, skip the middle man, head to the restaurant where you can have a beer from the bar and an on-site staff to bring out the food fresh instead of a two hour wait that, at least in this instance ended in mediocre disappointment. This store is normally a five star rating for us. But until they remedy the issues with door dash I’m afraid in this case, it will have to stay as a two...
Read moreAt Applebee's 2912 Knoxville Center Drive Knoxville Tn 37924 on 9-30-2015 I visited Applebee's for dinner. Our waiters name was Jake . No one was in Applebee's when we left but two women at the bar eating and having drinks. I realized in less than 5 minutes down the road I had forgotten my purse hanging on the back of the chair at a high top table where we were sitting. I called and talked to the manager Shane. Shane said he had my purse in his office and that Jake my waiter had brought it to him. I was back to Applebee's within 5 minutes. So a total of 15 minutes MAX that I had been gone from the restaurant. When returning to the Applebee's Jake handed me my purse from behind the bar ( the manager on the phone said it was in his office) . I opened my purse and noticed my perception medication I had just picked up before eating at Applebee's was gone. Well all but the bottles and a couple of pills left in each bottle ... So over 80 pills missing .. When I went to the manager he brought Jake over to ask him about my purse. When confronted with what had happen Jake said a "black guy" from the table next to us had brought him my purse before he took it to the manager. The table Jake was referring to left way before we had even got our food . So Jakes story was not true. It was still only the two ladies sitting at the bar when I returned. Then right in front of the manager Jake said if it's not weed I don't want it. If some random person took my meds they would of taken the entire bottle not left the bottles in my purse hoping I wouldn't notice. I will never spend my money in Applebee's again and I encourage everyone to keep watch and not get taken advantage of like I did. I feel so violated and I can't do anything about it. I’ve even spoken to corporate and didn’t get anywhere. Jake deserves to lose his job. Yes I left my purse by accident but I didn’t...
Read moreWe had to wait at the hostess area for a bit before anyone seen we were there waiting to be seated. We had not even got seated completely when a waitress came to the table asking us what we wanted to drink. When I stated I was not sure yet that I needed a little bit more time. She stated she would be back in a little bit to take our order. Definitely was longer than a little bit. We actually got to watch a gentleman that was sitting at another table for someone to give him a beer refill get pissed because he was waiting so long for his waitress and walk up to the bar himself to ask for the waitress so he could order another beer. The bartender stated she would get his waitress. Didn't even offer to give him his beer at that time. The waitress still didn't come around right away. This poor guy just got more aggravated. He ended up walking out with his wife. I believe he paid his bill, but I am sure there was no tip. Our waitress finally came to the table to take drink orders. I ordered a frozen holiday daiquiri and by the time our drinks arrived to the table my daiquiri was not frozen. Didn't want to say anything because we did not order our food yet and I didn't want anything to be done to my dinner that may be considered negative. I ordered a steak cooked medium which was cooked to perfection but my food was not hot. Everything was slightly warm and cooled off very quickly. I just took all the food home and ate it later. It really seems like Applebee's has gone down hill. I remember when standards where held much higher for the restaurant and for the their customer service. I can not speak for different locations, but this location made me feel like I was in a restaurant ran by people who were under the influence of something. I do not think we will go back to this location for a long, long...
