Letās start with the angel of this house, Mrs. Patrice. I donāt think Iāve seen someone so attentive, patient, sweet and with the type of inner beauty she displays. From the moment we walked in, she was offering assistance while we navigated the ordering kiosk. She encouraged us to place our order at the register so other guests wouldnāt be delayed ordering which I loved that she was trying to help us but also concerned about the overall experience of all her patrons. Who represents the face of your business is just as important as the business itself. I loved her and canāt wait to see her beautiful smile again.
Now to the food!!!! We tried the Dino rib (pictured below), turkey ribs (smoked & fried), green beans, cabbage and potato salad. Everything was superb but the green beans & turkey rib were beyond good. The Dino rib was delicious too and so much food but Mrs. Patrice said it wasnāt selling well to the demographic, given the price, which we thought was extremely reasonable. Fox Bros in ATL charged $40 for their dish. It will be sad when this scrumptious food art is gone. Please buy it if you want a chance to keep it. We had a lot of it leftover so it feeds 2/3 people if you have sides.
We enjoyed the food so much that we ordered again the next day as we were preparing to head back to Atlanta. This time we got the pork ribs, turkey ribs (smoked & fried), vegan baked beans (which were sold out Friday), green beans and paid for extra barbecue sauce (12 little cups) because itās just THAT GOOD. Nothing needs bbq sauce at all but itās savory & sweet combination is 5 stars. The ribs were honey glazed, tender and not overcooked. I didnāt bother with sauce for the first one and I closed my eyes while I ate it lol. Everything was amazing again!!! Food is just so delicious and cooked to perfection.
This spot is worth a drive from Atlanta for the day and we will be back Momma Patrice. Love...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I went twice before quickly coming to post to hype this place up. Twice was enough to know that this little spot is somewhere to quickly take your appetite! š
Firstly, you will be warmly and sincerely greeted. The building is little, but it's cute, and they've done a good job with their use of space. We sat at one of the tables, but many people place to go orders. If they're busy, expect to wait as you would at a sit down restaurant. While you wait just know it's worth every second.
The food has a great balance between savory and sweet. I don't usually get excited about chili hotdogs, but I š the strong beef flavor of the hotdog with the chili that has a touch of sweetness.
The ribs were tender, meaty, and again the dry rub had the savory/sweet balance. They don't need sauce, but if you're a sauce person definitely try their house BBQ. I liked the smokiness of it.
It's rare that I'm equally impressed with sides, but I'd go here just to get their Mac n Cheese! It's not overly creamy, nowhere near dry, right amount of butter/salt, the blend of cheese is perfection with a touch of smokiness, and the melted cheese on top, yes! The collards had smoked turkey pieces, a touch of sugar/savory and they weren't overcooked. The fried cabbage and slaw were also.š You can't go wrong with any of these choices, seriously.
Also, they offer Sunday specials like smoked/stuff turkey leg with dressing and gravy, two sides, and it is enough to feed two hungry appetites, for $28.
If somehow you make it to dessert, they have traditional banana pudding as well as nutter butter banana pudding. If you're still reading, go on and do yourself a favor and visit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered from Billie Rae's via GrubHub. They are located in East Knoxville, and I live in the Powell area. Due to some food allergies that I have, I called down to the restaurant before placing my order, and the person who answered the phone was very helpful in helping me identify which sides were safe for me to eat and which sides were not. Even though I called during dinner rush, not once did they make it seem like my questions were a bother. The employee on the phone was very helpful, And even checked with someone who had helped prepare some of the food that day to find out if an ingredient I was allergic to was in it.
After I got off the phone, I placed my order. Just 20 minutes later, my food arrived at my doorstep-- hot, well packaged, with utensils, extra napkins, and extra BBQ sauce. It smelled amazing before I ever even opened the bag, once I tried up it was absolutely delicious! I ordered the smoked Mac and cheese and the Pulled Pork. Both were amazing! The mac and cheese had a delicious layer of browned cheese on top, and the sauce was thick and very cheesy. The pulled pork was tender, perfectly cooked, and the sauce on it was smokey with a perfect hint of sweetness. If you're on that side of town, definitely check out this restaurant. And if you're like me and prefer to order in, this restaurant just went to the top of my list for yummy food that maintains it's quality while being delivered! It was an excellent price for the quantity I...
