Buddy's BBQ is a Knoxville TN chain (and now, in a few surrounding areas). They have been in business at least half a century. To last this long in a town filled with every national chain burger joint plus others, to me is saying something.
They have a fantastic menu of BBQ meats: pork (pulled and brisket), ribs, chicken, and turkey. Speaking of turkey, get one hickory smoked for Thanksgiving or Christmas, you won't regret it. Tonight, I finally tried their wings (I am not a fan of wings, and prefer boneless chicken). Oh sweet mother of taste buds, these were delicious, and I'm already wanting to go get more.
You can never go wrong with about anything on their menu. My wife and I are fans of the pork loaded baked potato. Their plate dinners are a great deal; however, this is also why I'm rankng at four stars instead of five. I don't feel they supply enough of the sides to go with the amount of meat. I always run out of baked beans before I finish my pulled pork. A bonus though is they bring around extra hush puppies, so there is that.
Two locations as of summer 2020 still offer breakfast: Loudon and Powell. A hunk of pulled pork on a mouth watering biscuit... Well, let's say if I'm in the area, traveling I-75, I will get off the Emory Rd exit and straight line it to Buddy's. Yes, even bypassing Chick-Fil-A.
You will never be sorry you stopped in and ate at...
Read moreThere were three people in our group. When we mentioned that it was the first visit for all of us, the very nice server at the counter told us the details of the daily specials. She also pointed out to us the list of the sides on the menu board. We ended up getting one pork sandwich meal that came with a pulled pork sandwich, choice of two sides (we chose macaroni and cheese and baked beans), and a drink; one Little Piggy meal (I think that's what it was called) that came with a small pulled pork sandwich, choice of one side, a chocolate chip cookie, and a drink: and a brisket dinner that came with brisket, choice of two sides (macaroni and cheese, fries), and hushpuppies. All three of us ate for under $30. There were several choices of beverages (several fountain drink sodas, lemonade, water, sweet tea, peach tea, and unsweetened tea) and the ice was the crumbly style. The counter was also stocked with sauces, pickles, napkins, straws, etc. We enjoyed our meals and felt that we got an appropriate amount for the cost. We thought that the pulled pork was the best item. The brisket was dry, but had a good flavor. The sides weren't amazing, but were a solid good. The dining room was clean. The flow of customers was very steady, but the line moved quickly. Our favorite part of our visit was the excellent customer service that we...
Read moreI ordered online traveling through and was told it was ready at 6:41pm so I went in (I could see my order behind their area on the back table), patiently waited in line to tell them I have an order to pick up. They had me stand to the side as I watched 8+ people get served their food who were behind me. The cashier was adamant with whoever was working in the back about my order but no one listened until she grabbed someone and told them. The whole time my order was sitting right where I could see it. I got it at 7:05pm and sadly it was cold. The customers were super nice though and welcomed me from out of town. The food was really good, but I’m sure it would have been better at least warm. Just please be sure if people order online for a quick process, you have it ready when you tell them to come...
