Captain Jack's — Restaurant in Knoxville

My sister and I have been in town for a couple of days for graduation and we decided to try out some food spots; therefore, we had to pick this one because it sold Whiting, Tilapia, & Catfish plates… We just knew we were going to have some amazing food. OH BOY, WERE WE WRONG AS EVER!!!! Online stated they closed at 9:30p we pulled up at 9:11p because we just finished with everything on our agenda… So, online had the times wrong… That should be updated regularly at least in my eyes. The young man at the register was pleasantly nice. He smiled & took our order and even corrected the issues we had after receiving the food. I ordered 1 whiting, 4 shrimp, & 2 chicken wings plate with Coleslaw & green beans… I just knew I had a great dish… went to sit down & had to wipe the top of table of off. I know sometimes restaurants Get busy and they can’t get to the tables in time; therefore, I didn’t make a fuss… My sister, nephew, & I take a seat with our food.. getting ready to eat I reached for my coleslaw and Lord and behold we had a little visitor (baby roach, 1st red flag) on my coleslaw. My sister and I just looked at it for a hot second and I grabbed my coleslaw and took it to the register. I showed the manager and then asked for another cuz baby my mouth was watering for some coleslaw, (2nd red flag). Got the replaced coleslaw.. Get back to the table and my sister opens up her coleslaw and baby the horrible smell that came from her coleslaw was a major OMG!! (3rd red flag). So I smelled mines the one I just got replaced and it was fresh. So I took it both coleslaws to the counter and had them a smell test and the young man was confused as though he has never smelled coleslaw and he took it back to the manager and he told the manager the situation and THE MANAGER had a nasty attitude (4th red flag). We just got our food and left. Went to the park up the street to try to eat in peace and baby… I ate my shrimp, it was good, my hush puppies had corn kernels in it… I got to my CHICKEN WINGS and it taste like nothing, but old grease and vinegar… No other flavor… I dropped it back into the plate and tried my fish… OMG.. I have NEVER EVER EVER IN MY LIFE HAD A PIECE OF WHITING THAT TASTE AS THOUGH IT JUST CAME OUT OF THE CUMBERLAND RIVER!! IYKYK 😳… Out of of the places we have been too within the last 2 days this has to be the worst of them all and I highly do not recommend it until a Health Inspector and the food critic Anthony Bourdain or someone of the proper status has approved this restaurant…

Took the food back. The manager didn’t have a problem giving a refund by no means… he just asked what was wrong with it and I told him everything I stated here… His attitude was different with me vs the employee… I hope they have a better day cuz...

The okra and fries were to hard for my parents to eat the last couple of times I have been there to get food for my mom and dad the okra and french fries were over cooked so when I went today which is June the 11th I first ordered only catfish and he said do you want the meal I said well it's for my parents they're 80 years old and the last few times the okra and fries have been overcooked the man stated he would tell the cook to cook the okra and Fries lightly I said okay that's fine I'll take the meal I get the meal home to my mom and dad the okra literally you could beat it on the counter and it it was horrible you couldn't chew it the fries were the same way now either one or two things happened he lied in my face and didn't tell the cook to cook it lightly or they did it intentionally I called 14 times they would not answer the phone, that will be my last trip their, that's sorry as hell,the meal was 18.00, we had to throw the okra and fries out..is that the way you treat the elderly people in...

Ordered through DoorDash and aside from the fried okra the food was horrible! The chicken had very little meat and was over cooked or possibly had been sitting out too long and fried a second time. The Mac and cheese was like someone took a frozen tv dinner and ran water in it then didn't even bother to season it. Didn't even get to try the hush puppies because they were left out of my order. The rolls were ice cold and tasted like someone had baked it the previous day and then put it in a plastic container and thrown in the refrigerator overnight. One bite I swear I tasted mold. After ordering a 12 piece family dinner I am very disappointed and still hungry because most of the food was inedible. If I could leave 0 stars I would. This place needs to be shut down or put under...
