This used to be my favorite restaurant and my husband and I would eat here most every week. I have hosted numerous business dinners here and always been pleased. The food historically was consistently good and the service amazing. Today was a different experience. I ordered my normal ale chicken and my husband got his beef brisket. After being seated for over 40 min, my husband walked around looking for our server. After she brought our drinks, she disappeared and never returned. He finally talked to the bar tender who checked on the food. The server came to the table with part of our order and an attitude. She said the kitchen was new and we needed to be patient. She said our sides were still in the oven and would be out later. I tasted my chicken and was so disappointed. After ordering this dish 15-20 times over the past year, it was covered in salt and inedible. I had to spit it out and so did my husband. When I asked to talk to the manager, she also had an attitude and said that her kitchen staff was new and maybe heavy handed. I asked her to please try it to confirm that this was extreme and not normal. In 48 years, I have never returned a dish to the kitchen. The manager refused to taste it. She said the ticket time was only 28 minutes for the chicken so I should be patient. She didn’t even offer to replace the inedible dish. Also, I am sorry but I don’t think 28 min times for an empty restaurant are reasonable. Maybe if the staff and manager were doing their jobs instead of hanging out in the back, ticket times, food quality and overall service would be better. If I ran my businesses like that, I would not have customers. As an owner, I never lodge complaints but this was such a horrible experience, I don’t want others to feel like I did. I left the lowest tip that I ever have in my life but I hope the young server will realize that goofing off in the back and being rude to customers is not how you make money. I was a server in college and a 30% tipper. Todays 2% was to hopefully teach a lesson.

Long story but summary was rude staff including manager and an hour of waiting to get inedible food only to be demeaned and made to feel...

My wife and I have been steady customers of this corner 16 location as well as other restaurants that is part of the same corporation including Calhouns and smoky Mountain brewery for many years. We chose this restaurant to celebrate my wife’s 70 birthday, we had a party of 11 including children. My daughter-in-law made the reservations and had never been here before nor have her family. We thought this would be a great place to celebrate especially with having five kids so they can entertain and play outside. So they seated on inside right next to the kitchen, after we finished eating, and spent around $200. My wife had gone to the host and asked if we could move outside so we could watch the kids while we had a specialty birthday cake that my daughter in law brought and to have cocktails. The host said he had just started and didn’t know but he would ask the other hostess. She said she would have to ask the manager if we could do this, he told her that he was busy and it would come talk to us in a few minutes. When he finally did come out, He really did not like the idea they were going to be sitting outside after already having dinner, even though there was not a wait line, and there were several empty tables on the outside dining section. He finally said that we could sit outside, but not under the roof, he was very cold and not at all friendly since he did not like this idea and good see and feel his terrible attitude. ( I wish my wife would of asked what his name was) As regular customers, my wife and I usually sit at the bar about once a month, as a matter fact we speak with Mike Chase quite often that’s usually there. I wish he would’ve been here last night and I hope that he reads this. I can assure you that we will never be back to this location again as well as my daughter-in-law and her husband and family will do the same and I won’t recommend anyone to dine at this location. This was very unprofessional and not about service. I could understand if there was a waiting line and it was busy. I could totally get that but unfortunately it wasn’t and this was not handled like it should’ve been. Terrible...

Let me say this up front, our server was AWESOME!!! Twelve of us, and nobody wanted for anything, she was on top of everything. WOW!!! What a first experience at Corner 16!!! We called about 5 or 6 hours ahead of time, and actually talked to the manager (Wes) to make reservations for a large group at 7 or 7:30. He and I just decided to split it down the middle, and make it for 7:15. Told him to expect 12 or 13, but we might only end up with 10, so just make it for 12, if we have to add a chair, no big deal. So my niece and others get there, she goes and checks in, they carry them in the back and sat them at a round table that might comfortably seat 5, maybe 6 (they had 8 chairs around this table) and a booth. The booth wasn't even next to the table, it was over behind the table. NO!!! We called, made reservations, waaaaaaay ahead of time for a reason. We came to have a family gathering, not have family scattered all over. So, my wife goes and finds Wes (he agreed that the reservation was for 12) finally they move us to a bigger table (then, we, not Corner 16, added another table because they had us packed in, like sardines in a can, again). Then it gets better. Everybody's food came out, one or two plates at a time. Everyone had cold food or barely warm. So, they redo almost all the food (the three that had barely warm, ate their's). After everything was said and done (Wes had left) one of the other mangers decided they would offer us a choice of there three desserts they had available. REALLY??? Twelve people, at least $350 worth of food and drinks, three desserts for 12 to split is the best they could do. Didn't even offer a discount for all there mistakes. WHAT A JOKE!!!!!! If negative stars were available, that's what they would've...

Went with a big group for a friend's birthday party. We got there and everyone else was already seated. The hostesses had no idea if our party was there and were like "just look around". We found everyone outside. Ordered our beverages after about 15 minutes and ordered some appetizers shortly after. The rest of the group had ordered appetizers prior to us getting there and those still took a good while. They were delicious (the fried green tomatoes were good, stuffed jalapeños, cheese and sausage appetizer and the loaded tots) and I ordered an avocado awesome burger not realizing it was a veggie burger. It was underwhelming when it arrived. 3 tiny slivers of avocado and giant pieces of onion not even fitting into the bun. I even tried to fix the onion before I took a picture of it and it still looked sad. It would probably have tasted better if it was hot and not mildly warm with congealed pepper Jack cheese on it. The macaroni looked like it was stacked on top of another and flat on the top and pretty cold too. Fortunately my kids were too busy playing outside with the big exercise balls and some other kids that were there so they didn't notice it was squished and cold. (I tried to mix it up a bit so in the picture the flat part on the left is what it all looked like when it arrived at our table.) Overall, the appetizers were good. My dinner was mediocre so I am giving 4 stars (rounded up from 3.5) for the benefit of the doubt since we had a large party. If it was just us and my food took that long and my meal was so mediocre I would give it 3 stars. Even though I don’t eat much meat and usually like vegetarian options, I would definitely not order the “awesome burger” again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ After three nights camping in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, I took a quick day trip to Knoxville and stopped in at Corner 16—and I wasn’t disappointed! I had the salmon salad, which was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I needed to refuel after several long hikes. The outdoor patio was perfect with a refreshing breeze and ideal weather, while the inside décor stood out with quirky, one-of-a-kind decorations. The highlight of my visit was my engagement with Jeannie, a manager filling in for the day. She went above and beyond—giving me a tour of the restaurant, making sure my food and service were excellent, and even sharing a fun detail about the décor. She explained that kids sometimes leave toys behind, and the owner places them on shelves—dinosaurs, tractors, and other little “Easter eggs” for guests to discover. Such a creative touch that made the atmosphere even more memorable. I’ve also visited some of their other concepts, like Chesapeake’s, and the consistency in quality and hospitality is impressive. 👉 Whether you’re a local or just passing through Knoxville, Corner 16 is a must-visit!

Always looking for great patio spots to watch the game and enjoy a good meal so this looked promising. Great covered patio and turf area with tables. Dog friendly too!! They only get locally broadcast games so if you are wanting to see an out of market game, this is not the place to go. They have lots of staff, unfortunately, service is lackluster and not helpful. I ordered a mimosa, brisket chili, a hamburger (for my puppy) and fries. The mimosa was hand squeezed oranges--pulp, pith, seeds, and all. After the 3rd sip and 2nd seed, I pushed aside and waited to ask server for something else--she never returned until i asked for check and she simply dropped off card reader at table! My puppy loved the burger patty but the fries were over seasoned and cold. As for general vibe, I was there on a Sunday afternoon for football but the patio more resembled a daycare, tons of very young kids running around "yard" and patio. Which I'm sure is great for parents needing a break but not enjoyable for those expecting a more adult crowd. Can't say I will be returning or recommending; we'll go back to Abridged HQ, and Double Dogs.
