Sassy Ann's — Restaurant in Knoxville

This is one of my favorite bars in Knoxville. When I walk into this place, I usually feel like I'm perfectly at home, as I've gotten to know the staff pretty well. The building itself is really cool and spacious enough considering it's a converted brothel. The remnants of it's former life still linger there, and I swear to you, it's haunted! I've almost been knocked off of my barstool more than once. The music is very dance oriented. A lot of 80's, 90's, etc. The lines to the bathrooms aren't usually too crazy, although I have seen the women's line down the hall from time to time. Drink prices are on point, and no one will ever accuse this place of watering down their drinks. lol. Vicky is probably my favorite bartender in Knoxville, and I've definitely met a few great ones here. The girls up stairs will do you right as well. Especially if you're kind and patient. A lot of the UT crowd goes there and there have been a few instances where the guys have gotten pretty inappropriate with some of the women, so if you're a single female looking for a good time, bring a friend and watch out for one another. There is a bouncer that will handle things if they get out of control, but he can't be everywhere all of the time, so watch out for yourself. The only other thing I think needs to be known is the strange obsession people dancing upstairs have with stomping on the floor. If you're one of those people, please respect the rules and stop. It's an old building and folks like me appreciate...

I'm not much for going out late or getting wild these days but I somehow got roped into going to Sassy's again after 6 years and ended up having a blast. The crowd seems mid twenties up to 40s now and EVERYone was having a great time. Very good vibes, decent drinks for cheap and killer music. Lots of 80s and 90s for us old farts that can't stand new age hip hop or angsty band boys crying into their synthesizers. I may just come back because it was the most fun I've had in a while. Did I mention its in a super eery multi-story historical house? Definitely worth checking out! Oh and dont look in the corner behind the piano...itll give you chills. Just drink, dance and sing...

This place is the best. Hands down.

After an awesome night I was the unfortunate victim of an incredibly unlikely scenario in which my debit card was accidentally switched with another persons card. Although I'm assuming this will probably never happen again.. the owner and employees rallied all night to find the person who had drunkenly accepted my card by accident. The next day, Ed (the owner) personally delivered my card back to me.

I highly recommend this place not only for their exceptional customer service, but for an overall amazing, fun, and nice atmosphere this establishment...
