All I can say is wow. We didn't set out to dine here. We were headed to Choo Choo magoos. They were closed down, apparently sold building. Korner kitchen came up in our search. So we ventured over.
Server started out rude and aloof, didn't seem to want to interact at all. We ordered and all else seemed well. This is a small place, no hiding anything going on.
Server greeted people who seemed like regulars, knowing their drink orders. When our order was up, everyone in the place knew it. Our server started yelling at the cook that one of our orders was wrong. Literally yelling!
She then brings my order to me and tells my friend hers will be a while. I honestly do not know anyone that wants to eat their food in front of someone who doesn't have theirs yet.
I was honestly afraid of her yelling, so didn't ask her to put mine under a warmer.
My friends order arrived, but not as ordered, but this time Server couldn't see that onions were raw instead of caramelized.
My friend just picked them out of inside her quesadia and ate it.
Now another drama at another table unfolding for everyone's horror or entertainment.
Seems a customer ordered a sandwich and asked to have bread rye instead of white.
We all got to hear the cook tell the server he was only going to make it according to menu.
Just as we were leaving, the waitress had to return sandwich to cook . You can imagine the back and forth from there. We walked out in the middle of that one.
Needless to say, this place was not added to our let's visit again and give them another chance list. I highly suggest you spare yourself from this place unless, of course, you enjoy that kind of atmosphere!!
Portions were on the very small side, but prices were also cheap. We could have used a bit of desert, but decided we were done. Still left 20 percent tip, but it was not...
Read moreKorner Kitchen in Kokomo is a well-regarded spot for homestyle breakfast and American cuisine. Its hearty breakfast options, including pancakes, eggs, bacon, and omelettes, which are my favorite. They can practically customize to your liking.
I appreciate the friendly service and the cozy, diner-like atmosphere. Gives me that home town feel, seeing that I am from Kokomo(GO KATS!)! The food quality as being consistently good, with dishes like the Big Korner Breakfast (my favorite) and their omelettes (the taco one ) highly recommend . The restaurant is also known for being reasonably priced, making it a good value for the quantity and quality of food provided .
Some people don’t like certain inconsistencies in the preparation of certain dishes, like eggs and sausage. I love it though makes me feel like my mom is preparing or like it’s homey like . That’s why I’m always go back. The ice is amazing as well. Despite these minor hiccups, the overall sentiment is positive, especially for those seeking a traditional American KOKOMO breakfast experience. It does have a lot of seniors and um not very many people of color but do not let that detour you! I’m just...
Read moreThe food is good & the staff is nice. Make sure you have plenty of time, because it takes forever to get your food. As I was waiting for my food I couldn't help noticing the cook wandering around the restaurant. The weird thing is he came out of the kitchen, grabbed a bottle of ketchup and went back. Not sure if he was eating breakfast back there or what. In the time it took me to get my food he could have had a nice meal. I have actually left this restaurant before without getting any food because I waited so long for it. It's a shame because the potential is there to be a good...
