Brandi is the backbone of this place! She does an amazing job with communicating effectively with customers and is pleasant and personable even under pressure.
It's understandable that Hardee's would be very busy after 2 a.m. on a Friday night when they are one of the only fast food options to assuage the hunger of inebriated parties. I took my friend through the drive-thru for just that reason, and Brandi was professional in communicating that there would be a wait because of the high volume. Having worked in the food service industry over a dozen years myself, I had no issue waiting and appreciated her informing me.
While we waited to reach the window, my friend really had to use the bathroom- you'll see where this is going- after maybe a 10-15 minute wait, we reached the window and I told Brandi how much I appreciated her staying cool under pressure and still providing great service as she handed us our beverages.
I hurried over to Kwik Trip so my friend could use the bathroom, and realized between my urgency to get my friend to a bathroom and my conversation with her that I had entirely forgotten to even wait for the food! Silly me. I called and Brandi and I had a good chuckle about it, she told me to just swing back through the drive-thru. My food was still hot and fresh and delicious and she was HAPPY to help out. That's a great employee right there!
My only concern would be the obvious lack of staffing I noticed while passing through, based on my own experience in restaurants. Having two staff members for a Friday night is completely absurd when it's known you're pushing those people to the limit at a time when there will be high volume, which is going to affect customer perception, order times, and the overall mental and emotional health of the people you choose to force to deal with that. Don't burn out your best team members just to try to save a few bucks on labor, because it will ultimately lead to more costly repercussions. Brandi deserves better!
That being said, I will definitely be returning more often. Either to have wonderful service from Brandi, or eat those awesome chicken tenders that are one of the best available options in town!...
Read moreI wanted to go to Culvers but the line was backed up so i decided on Hardees as curly fries sounded pretty good. I rarely go to Hardees and was reminded why when i went to Hardees on the North side tonight. I ordered at the drivethrough and after paying i was waiting in the window for a while for a roast beef sandwich with Xtra BBQ sauce, a burger and curly fries.
The pink haired, larger woman walked out to another vehicle and i thought that i should move forward and perhaps park off to the side since there were a couple cars behind me at this point.
The look that woman gave me.... Wow....As she walked up to my car, I rolled my window down and started to say "I didn't know if i should move forward...." She snapped "NO" and walked past my car. So that struck me as a little rude.
So she handed me my food, i apologized (basically for making her walk 2 feet out the door), she turned and walked away. Not a huge deal...
Opened my bag of food. No BBQ sauce. So i walked inside to ask for the BBQ sauce. They guy with red dreads told me he'd be with me in a minute. So i waited, and waited... Finally they first girl caught a glance at me and i asked her for BBQ sauce. She and the other guy exchanged a glance, smirked and she said "oh i must have forgotten that."
How hard is your job? Seriously? With one no-one in front of me in line, no-one in the restaurant and 2 people behind me? That's too much pressure to remember some BBQ sauce? I have literally done that exact job. At that exact same place! Not even kidding. Granted its been about 14 years but still... To top it off the restaurant was absolutely disgusting inside and the curly fries were soggy and cold. Disgusting.... For the most part each of those things aren't big deals but collectively... Pretty disappointing. I will definitely not be going back there again. I'll stick to Culvers. They are really the only good fast food place...
Read moreUnable to vote lower than this. My wife and I visited the drive thru around noon ( 7/8/17 ). We each had a small combo with the jalapeno burger. I was really excited to try something new for a change as we don't visit this establishment often as it is.
The person at the window seemed cheerful but in no way did it feel genuine. I guess we have bad days so I guess he gets the "1 star".
HOWEVER, less than 5 minutes later when my wife had taken the burger she said it was cold. I took out my own and sure enough it felt very cold and although patty seemed to be cooked correctly there was absolutely no heat coming off of it, as if it was put in a cooler after it was done. (* This is highly disappointing coming from a place who's pride is partly made to order *)
I'll be fully honest and admit my eyes were getting the best of me and I ate it regardless as I have a fondness for anything spicy.
This I must say left no room for satisfaction at a place that I KNOW has had better service. The workers here need to either go through more training, or get someone who wants to be there on a weekend.
I hope this place changes sooner than later.
