The Sports Nut — Restaurant in La Crosse

I have been here on Wednesdays before and have had an alright experience and very good wings. Tonight was horrible though. This guy was rude and when I asked for tap water no ice and another drink he takes my money and comes back with the change and a bottle of water. I asked if they served tap water and he says no not on wing special nights and walks away quickly. It is rare to be charged for water in La Crosse and if you are charged you should at least be told ahead of time and given an option ( A note to the owner, you get customers to come back by having good service and not showing greed by charging for water. If you don't make enough on wing night on the wings, raise the price of the wings and don't reflect it in other ways, or else it comes off as greedy). It was also hard to get his attention to get drinks even afterwords when he wasn't serving people. No smile and he ended up losing my friend's debit card. He wouldn't even put effort into trying to find it. Instead of refunding the small 10 dollar tab for losing it, he made another friend pay for his meal. No good vibes here. We were traveling back from chicago and were looking for the best wings in la crosse. This place came up and me and my girlfriend were tired and hungry, ready to eat. We came into the bar and weren’t greeted at all. (we both work in the food industry) Okay whatever, they’re busy it’s okay. We talked to the sweetest lady ever (didn’t work there) and she explained to us how to order because nobody else said anything to us. So we sat down at the bar and got kicked out because we were under 21….. What kind of bar refuses to serve food because we were under 21?? We literally thought they were joking at first because our first interaction with the bartender was weird and rude, and the manager confirmed to us that they didn’t serve to people under 21. We walked out completely disappointed and heard the managers and bartender laughing at us??? I guess i would be rude aswell if i worked at a shitty little bar in a small town. On April 24th 2024 my mother, sister and I are all Black Americans and went to Sports Nuts. We sat at the front of the bar because there were no seats available. Once we got to sit down two white men said they cannot serve us because I am not 18. Like I stated before I was with my mother and sister. There was also a family of 4 there with a teen and also a baby. They didn’t card them. Once my mom and sister showed their ID’s to them they still proceeded to be unkind and discriminate against us. We only came there to get wings because they’re specials on Wednesdays. The week before , me and my mother went their and they did not card us. I felt humiliated and embarrassed because of their actions towards us, we were the only black people in the bar at that time, AND other individuals in the bar were laughing and making negative/racist comments.
