Snuffy’s Bar — Restaurant in La Crosse

This used to be be great neighborhood bar. The old owner Pete knew you n what you drank n made the bar a great neighborhood bar. The new owner doesn't wait on you unless she has a chance to date you and there are times when you walk in, there is NO bartenders at all, because they are outside on their smoke break. The bar used to have an older crowd from opening until early evening n then the college age filled the bar until close. The new owners don't appreciate the loyalty or the business of the older crowd who have been there forever n kept the bar's bills paid with their name brand high balls, compared to the college kids who drink the cheapest draft beer. You can wait for 20 plus minutes for a drink because the bartenders won't service you while they talk to each other or wait on their future dates. This bar used to be a bar for everyone, but if you are not just legal n handsome, good lucky getting a drink (This applies to all the bartenders n the owner, except for Rae who does a decent job on providing you with a drink n remembering who you are, no matter what you look like or your age. I know A LOT of the regulars are looking for a new bar to hang out n spend their money at. I'm not impressed with the new owner n her staff, except for Rae who does a decent job of waiting on you. Since I’ve been coming to this bar for more than three years. Since Pete sold it. It has gone WAY down hill. Not to mention for pool league they are the only bar to not give drink chips anymore. Which is super disappointing cause that is what keeps people. One drink won’t hurt you. Most of the pool players keep buying drinks. Plus it takes forever to get a drink. Food for the price is terrible and not good anymore. We were in yesterday and our food just sat there getting cold until I noticed are food just sitting there never brought to us or let us know it was done just sat there and talked. Not the bar it used to be! NO Pete is no longer there! Those 5 star reviews are very likely on the bar that he ran!! In the 2-3 months since the new owners have taken over there have been too many changes and not for the good. Loud blaring jukebox, you can't even hear what the person sitting beside you at the bar has to say! You want a drink, you have to wait for the bartender to come back inside the bar? The drinks are short and the prices higher. Where are the frosted mugs? They pulled all sodas out of there except pepsi. Do people really ask for a rum and pepsi or what do they get when they order a 7&7. Where have all the people gone they are no longer there. The place is emptier each week!
