New owners have spruced up the decor. Staff was friendly. My review is based on the same three dishes I always ordered when restaurant was Red Sun. General Tso's Chicken was OK. Sauce wasn't bad, but wasn't great. Was a tad flat with no "heat" at all. The Sweet & Sour Chicken was OK. Sauce had a nice sweet/sour flavor one would expect. Chicken was tender. The Szechuan Chicken was a huge disappointment for all. The sauce had little to no flavor and left a bitter aftertaste in everyone's mouths. Contained plenty of vegetables - green beans, red bell peppers, red onion, mushrooms and I believe jicama. Would have preferred green bell peppers, bamboo shoots, carrots and nappa. Tried one of their new menu items, Vegetable Pad Thai. Coming from a fast food restaurant it was very good. The provided lime wedges were a nice touch. Really want to see our local restaurants/ businesses thrive so will give The Wok another try by ordering different meals. Hopefully we won't be as disappointed as we...
Read moreNormally I’ve had good experiences at this restaurant. My only criticism has been that it is too pricey. Today’s experience has changed that for me; I ordered coconut chicken, 2 orders of vegetable lo mein, white rice and crab Rangoon. When I got home I had 2 orders of vegetable fried rice instead of my lo mein. Normally I wouldn’t say anything but since I paid over $50 for basically rice, I called. The woman who answered told me I ordered the fried rice, which I know I did not. If I were even the slightest bit unsure the mistake were mine I wouldn’t have called but I know it wasn’t because I had to repeat the order to her. She just kept saying I ordered fried rice. There was no acknowledgement that she could have possibly made a mistake or any attempt to rectify the situation. Sadly, I can no longer recommend this restaurant and I will not be returning. If you do a phone order, make sure you check the order...
Read moreMoved here from Washington DC metro area. Was looking for Chinese food. They were recommended to me. Being right next to the Kroger. My husband and I have enjoyed every meal we have ordered. He judges the quality of food by the combination fried rice. Myself, the shrimp and lobster sauce. The portions are good sizes. Even the lunch specials. The owners are extremely nice, and helpful with their menu selections. I like a small amount of heat in my spicy selections and they are accommodating in that request. They are open 6 days a week, being closed on Mondays. Everyone deserves a day off. Truly recomend that if you want Chinese in the LaGrange area eat there. Have to add to my review. Just had their version of COCONUT SHRIMP. Wow it was great. Very large shrimp. Very tasty sauce. 12 shrimp for $12. W rice. Tempura breading. So light and crispy. You really need to try them if...
