Starbucks — Restaurant in La Mesa

We have been going to this Starbucks since it opened a few years ago and have had a very good experience, mainly because of the staff. They have consistently been very friendly and welcoming... until the last few times we have gone there. Today and a few other times lately we have placed our order (in store) with "Bre". Bre has consistently been sullen, curt, and unfriendly when we interacted with her. The other baristas have always been super friendly and some recognize us and know our names (we have been going there about twice a week for years). It seems like she doesn't like her job. Maybe she doesn't like dealing with us older folks. We are not sure why she is bitter and cranky, but she is NOT providing good customer service, at least not to us. We thought you would want to know. Update 9/24/25 Since my last review(and critique) of Bre, I thought I should update. Seriously, they are out of most food by 3 everyday. Y'all are open until 9 maybe order more?

Second update: they are still always out of lunch food by 2 pm...which is mid lunch. You'd think the manager would order more if that's the case, but I guess not, so I'll have to go elsewhere to save myself from sitting in two lines before work.

Update: They really need to order more food, I get there before 3 most days and everything is sold out by then. Which is crazy. If you sell a lot you should be ordering a lot. Especially running out daily. So frustrating.

Today (March 8th 2022) was a horrible day, and I had no idea Starbucks would be the place to turn it around, but Jonas went above and beyond to cheer me up. I don't know if it was obvious I was having a rough day, but his kindness, patience and understanding really turned my day around. Thank you!

I have come here so many time since the opening just because this brach is very near my place. The issue that have been annoying me a little bit for long time is there are so many staffs that alway make noise. So it is hard to keep focusing to work here. But as said before, this is just a minor issue for me so I keep coming back here. However, one thing that makes me write this comment is when I asked one of staffs here for a cup of water. He seemed he didn't care about me although I was standing there in front of the counter waiting for it for a while (and he was aware of it because he reply "yes, I will get you that"). I was waiting for so long and it never served and I was not bothering to ask again.

I will rate as three stars because the location is nice. Sitting here and work is comfortable, but service is just fine. Nothing that I can say great. Just OK for...
