Sunny Donuts — Restaurant in La Mesa

My timing was spot on, when arriving at the exact time that the baker was filling the donuts that I love. I normally don't go in at night, because my favorite donut is usually sold out. But they were being filled and brought out just at that time. I bought a dozen, including 5 of my favorit, 3 jelly , 2 chocolate cake, 1 chocolate bar, and a raised glaze with sugar coat. Only $15. I have been going to this place since the late 90's. Though, it has changed hands several times, it has always served a good donut. I have tried other shops in the area, but I grade them with this shop as the standard. I keep coming back. The service is always immediate. And friendly. It is right off 94 and 125,on Spring street. I came here a few months ago to get donuts because my usual place was all out. I saw that they made breakfast sandwiches and thought I'd give that a try too. Turns out those sandwiches are amazing. Make sure Lin is the one behind the counter though. I've been back several times for the sandwich and there's another lady that works sometimes who makes them completely different and not as well. Lin takes what I assume is a croissant they make there, toasts it up and makes you two fresh eggs to put on top of it. You can get cheese, ham, bacon etc as well. I usually opt for the number four which is ham, bacon and cheese. It's amazing. Highly recommend this place. The donuts, donut holes and other creations are amazing as well....

Stopped at this morning to get some donuts for my son's birthday. I did not check my order until I got home because I saw her bag them up and I knew it was correct. When I got home my plane old fashioned wasn't just a day old it wasn't a week old it was practically fossilized. By tapping it on the counter I was afraid I'd break a tile. The plain old fashioned was the same way extremely stale I paid 10 bucks for a half a dozen donuts and they sucked. Really disappointed and the lady behind the counter did not seem like she enjoyed being there it was if she was doing me a favor or I was putting her out for asking for some donuts. I'll find...
