Alright, first of all let’s start positive, the food is great. My boyfriend and I ordered the pepperoni pizza and it was wonderful! The pizza was super soft and delicate, topped well with a very yummy tomato sauce. the salad was well dressed and it didn’t take super long to get the food. Also I throughly enjoy the fact that you can self serve your own drink.
Now for the negative, where do I even begin. From the second we walked in we weren’t greeted, and the cashier Juliana M stared at us blankly like we were some foreign creature. No hi? hello? how’s it going? Nada, totally distasteful from the rip. We asked about the slice deal with a salad and drink which she stated was only til 6 but after second look it only went till 3. So I don’t know maybe menu training is needed. Also, why is a cashier selecting no receipt for customers without asking? Seems odd to me.
This was our first time at this restaurant as my parents frequent the mastiff, so we didn’t know the menu and deals accordingly. We proceeded to then sit down. Juliana brings plates with our utensils and again no, words, no smile, nothing… Just complete silence and a blank look on her face. We used our manners and tried to lighten the situation. She wouldn’t budge.
We finally receive our food at this point the experience was very distasteful, when you get bad service it makes trying to enjoy the food extremely difficult. I asked to speak to a manger, who also wouldn’t smile, ask hi, hows it going? Nothing. Just claimed to be the manager/owner? I don’t know if he even knew his role here. He had said, “Yeah, she’s that way cause she’s under the weather today”. I’m sorry… for someone to be THAT distasteful because they are “under the weather” Is absurd. Also, why is someone potentially sick even working with food in the first place? We as customers don’t know someone isn’t feeling well… a simple, “I'm sorry”, would have been better than some lame excuse to excuse someone’s awful customer service skills. We weren’t rude, didn’t complain loudly and tried to be as honest as possible all while being helpless. We or my family will not be coming back for business. Be mindful of the people that will be serving your food or drinks before...
Read moreWe've been here a couple times now and it is absolutely delicious! The first time I got the pork belly nugs, the full order. I couldn't even finish them all so I got to have some the next day. They were a little on the dry side but otherwise delicious. The second time I was going to try something else but I ended up ordering the daily special which was brisket burger, brisket meat on top of burger. I was going to take a picture of the sign but since I have a deadly ordered the last one they had available, they had pulled the sign by the time we went to leave. I told the girl when I ordered that it better be good brisket because I had just spent six years in Texas and had high standards. On the way out I held a thumbs up and told her the brisket was delicious. The flavor was perfect, it was very juicy and tender. I would order it again if they had it on the regular menu. I even suggested to her that they might consider serving a brisket sandwich since they did such a good job. They have great lunch prices and I think it's only a couple dollars more to add in fries and a drink to a...
Read moreWent and checked out Mastiff's latest location and they nailed it again.
I've also been a big fan of the pork nugs, they are one of my favorite ways to have pork belly. They have the nice crunch on the outside and still tender on the inside with the extra crunch from the crushed peanuts.
To get some greens in your belly, I really liked the brussel sprouts with the little bit of sweetness to it. The Caesar salad does the trick if you're looking for a dinner sized salad.
The wings are extra crispy and still juicy as well. I'm all about having crispy wings and they definitely have that crunchy bite.
The pizza crust has a nice crunchy crust. The homemade sausage has some great flavor that is much better than most sausage on pizzas you'll find. There is a nice balance to the pizza, not overly cheesy. If you like a thin crust pizza, this won't be your thing though.
They have something like 20 beers, seltzer and kombucha on tap and wine. They also have some good happy hour deals. I'm glad I went.
Had some TVs with different...
