It might be a small no frills hole in the wall. BUT Let me tell you something….. this (plain) CARNITAS PLATE right here !!!! I don’t know who’s Abuela is in the back roasting this pork. Normally I NEVER eat carnitas because it’s dry and tasteless. But this right here is perfectly moist AND crispy with a delicious bouquet of seasoning. We use this place regularly because we live next to it. It's good, but good Mexican food isn't hard to come by in SD. Prices have gone up a bit over the last 6 months too. The staff is always friendly and the food is ready quickly. If you're looking for "OMG, you have to try this place!" this isn't it (go to Pacific Beach or down around the Coronado Bridge for choice taco shops), but if you just want some quality Mexican at a fair price and you're in the neighborhood, this is your spot.
