Looking for the perfect brunch destination this weekend, you should definitely check out Popping Yolk Cafe! Popping Yolk Cafe is a super cute and aesthetic brunch cafe with locations in both Hacienda Heights and Alhambra. This local brunch spot serves everything from omelettes to sandwiches to crepes. They also have a variety of beverage such as coffee, tea, and juices. FOOD: What I Ordered: Classic Benedict 🥚, Half Order Toffee Banana French Toast 🍌🍯🍞, Popping Yolk Burger 🍔 , Iced Caramel Latte 🧊☕️, Fresh Orange Juice 🍊 Eggs Benedict 🥚: Eggs Benedict is a brunch must have. While Popping Yolk offers a variety of unique Benedicts, we decided to stick with the classic. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked and topped with just the right amount of Hollandaise sauce. Banana Toffee French Toast 🍞: If you are someone who loves sweets for breakfast, I’d definitely recommend trying the French Toast. The French Toast is deep fried so it has an incredible crispy texture on the outside but still is nice and soft on the inside. I loved the combination of toffee and banana for toppings. Popping Yolk Burger 🍔: Whenever I have the option, I always choose to add a sunny side up egg to my burger so when I saw that the burgers here already come with an egg I was egg-static! This burger had all my favorite toppings and was so delicious! 😍 All of Popping Yolks savory entrees come with a generous side of country fried potatoes and garden spring salad. The country fried potatoes were one of my favorite parts of the meal. They are so fun to eat because they are in small bite sized pieces. They are so crispy on the outside yet fluffy on the inside. Drinks: As for the drinks, I love that their orange juice is freshly squeezed and you can really taste the difference! It’s so sweet and refreshing. The iced caramel latte had a nice caramel flavor and was was the perfect amount of sweetness. SERVICE: I went on a Monday afternoon so it wasn’t very busy. There were a lot of free tables so we got to sit wherever we wanted, inside or outside. We chose to sit outside because their outdoor dining space is super cute and aesthetic. We went to the front to order our food at the register and our food came out super quickly. The server was really nice and efficient. The parking lot here is a bit small but there is more parking on the side nearer to Vons so you will probably be able to find parking relatively easily! Food IG: @kristys.kravings

Saw this place on Instagram since a lot of the food accounts started posting about this place. I remember seeing the French toast picture and it seems like most of them were ordering that, which sparked my interest. Finally was able to stop by and I ended up ordering the French Toast, while my bf ordered the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict and the Cajun Fries. In the end, I wasn't a fan of the French toast because it was a bit too oily, wasn't as sweet as I would have liked and just didn't really like the crunchy texture it had. The fries were kind of disappointing too since the quantity was little compared to it's price. The flavor of the fries weren't amazing either. The only thing that I really enjoyed was the Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was good, the eggs were runny, and the flavor overall was a nice. I just wished it came with a bit more of the sauce. Lesson learned: Instagram food may not always be good food IG: @jkfoodaddie

I Google maps and reviews for a breakfast restaurant. The one reason I selected Popping Yolk Cafe was the current reviews giving high praise for food and service. The owner is proactive responding to all reviews. Good and bad reviews. So, I decided to have breakfast. You order at the cashier counter and the staff brings you your meal. My first impression the decor/ambiance was nothing special. The service was very good and knowledgeable. I ordered the "Nashville Hot Chicken Benedict " medium spicy. No knowing how they rate the spice levels. Next time I will choose the higher level of spiciness. I like the fact that they serve a salad with the entree to break up the richness of the eggs. The potatoes were crisp and just average. Coffee was so so not the best I've had. Ok with non dairy creamer which I never use in Coffee. I will definitely return. Maybe their new location in Arcadia closer to our home.

I am disappointed of the experiences we have been having lately at this restaurant. The past few instances were a doozy but the most recent experience takes the cake. We ordered as usual and paid for our food before we sat at our table. My boyfriends food came out quickly but the food I ordered took some time (which is fine, I can wait for hypothetically good quality food). As we are waiting for the food, an employee on the opposite side of the store drops an open spray bottle of cleaner (I'm assuming bleach, because it smelled like bleach) and the flight path of liquid falls onto our table and onto the food. Granted, if it was water, it would have been fine, but I believe ingesting bleach may be detrimental to the health of an individual. We flagged down an employee and asked if we can get our food changed due to BLEACH falling onto the plate. The employee took our contaminated food and graciously wiped our table and gave us different utensils. However, when they brought back the "new" plate, it was the same plate they took from us, (because it looked literally the same.) I inquired to another employee if it was the same plate and they lied and told us it wasn't. I clarified if we can get a new plate because the last one had bleach in it and they took it to the back and took a less than a few minutes to bring us a new one. By the time I had gotten my plate of food, we both lost the appetite to eat due to the sad customer service and consideration to ensure that their customers get food that might not get them sick. I don't mind being stared down by the employees for "bugging them” for a new plate that can not get me sick. I enjoy not clutching my stomach and vomiting for the day due to contaminated food. It is expected that since the food was paid for in the beginning it should be of edible and safe quality. I'm glad that you are grateful we gave your store a try and its okay that you didn't meet our expectations that are fairly at bare minimum. You definitely fell short at standards and I DO hope the feedback is applied to the team and store to improve. I don't think the employees are to blame but rather the management who like to shrug off situations in order to save inventory and time. I don't think I will be venturing to this place again and giving it another try due to the constant failures. It's difficult to support a business who is adamant in bringing an unsatisfactory experience to their customers. As hypothetical question, would you (as a customer or a server) eat food that is spoiled by cleaning liquids or just...

DISCLAIMER!!!! This place is absolutely beautiful and offers amazing variety I highly recommend and the staff is top notch!:) shout out to y'all!! you guys were the best!! Now for the bad part and I say this for the people in charge. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken and eggs Benedict meal because it sounded amazing. I got my meal pretty quickly and it looked very delicious buuuuuut that's where the splendor ended, the eggs were raw and Cold, I immediately noticed it was raw just by looking at it but when I cut the yolk it wasn't even room temperature in terms of warmth and it was completely raw on the inside. It made me nauseated. I tried the chicken and the chicken was undercooked and also cold , I mean it was not even room temperature on the inside and that could have been a serious health hazard. I couldn't eat the food except for the potatoes and salad on the side. I ordered some hot tea 🍵 but when it was brought to the table it was also not hot at all it wasn't even room temperature. I debated asking for a different meal but I didn't want to wait longer since I was very hungry. My husband ordered the obe French toast and it was AMAZING!!! Despite my disappointment with my particular meal, my hope with this is that the managers or whomever is in charge reads this and takes steps to train on food safety/ preparation. I know for a fact that my meal would have been a perfect 10/10 everything about it was perfect except the temperature of the food. And the tea was delicious but I asked for hot tea. I hope this...
