Scardino's Pizza — Restaurant in La Puente

The main reason why I'm giving them 4 stars is because of the very nice older gentleman (maybe the owner?) and the staff. Very very friendly people.

Now the pizza review. Their pizza has drastically changed since I was a child. It use to be melt in your mouth delicious. When I was growing up, there was nothing to critique about their pizza.

My mom, my brother, and me went here today. The pizza was ok imo. My brother said it was good but he knows that there are other places better. Their pizza dough is totally different from my childhood. It was tough to bite through. At first I thought it was just me but both my mom and brother noticed it as well. And the dough was thick too. The pizza sauce could be a lot better as well. It tasted like store bought pizza sauce. Then the edges of the pizza was just plain. Just put some olive oil or something on it to make it flow with the rest of the entire pizza.

They're pretty generous with the toppings.

Those are my only critiques: better sauce, thinner crunchy pizza dough (not crazy crunchy but a small crunch to it), dress up the edges of the pizza crust with olive oil or butter.

But I would say visit to see if you like it.

We've been going to this pizza place for a couple years now, seems like customer service keeps getting worse. We placed the order ahead of time and when we go to pick it up they start taking everyone's order that walked in after me & I had to tell them I was there to pick up my pizza they just said ok and asked the guy behind me if they can take his order. All they had to do was charge me and give me my pizza. Last time we went we still had to wait about 30 mins for a pizza they said would be ready in about 20 mins mind you we still gave them some time and got there about 10 mins past the time they told us to be there. The worst part was we had also bought a soda there and one of the old guys in the back had the nerve to practically accuse us of taking the soda without paying. The pizza that was given to us was cold and was NOT the one we ordered and when we called they refused to solve the matter it's their way or no way they offered for us to take in the pizza and we would get extra slices of what we had ordered as not next time they would give a discount but to take the pizza back.... I asked if they can drop off the correct one on their way out to our house they said no they don't deliver to bring in the pizza and get the other one. I wonder if they resale the pizzas that are returned to them? Why would they ask for a food to be returned?
