Mario's — Restaurant in Lacey Township

Had a very disappointing experience at Mario’s today. I phone ordered the online coupon that we have always utilized (see photo) and when I showed up to pay, it reflected they raised the price by several dollars, up from 24.99. They did not advertise this in advance to me as I pulled the coupon off the website, as I always have.

Had back-and-forth with staff and they assured me I was being charged the proper amount. When I showed them the current price, online, they said they had “no control” over the price online and showed me a paper copy of the updated prices, made around Christmas. I made it clear that I was being overcharged and they disagreed.

I did not have enough to cover the increased price and stated I would come back. The young woman working the counter stated it was okay, and that I did not have to come back for the order. Before leaving, I stated that they should update their website and I was assured by the young woman that they would.

Today’s experience left me feeling slighted, disappointed and disrespected. I get that all companies, including local restaurants, need to increase prices, but they also need to take responsibility and accountability for the posted prices on their website(s).

Just had the worst customer service experience with someone on the phone here. Called when they opened at 11am to see if I could place an order for a few trays of food to be delivered at 5:30pm this afternoon. The man said they usually need orders like that 4-5 days in advance, but still asked what I wanted. After telling him the order, he asked for my phone number and as I was giving it to him he cut me off and said it didn't match his records. He then asked for the phone number of the house it was being delivered to, which I didn't have as I'm sending it to a family as a bereavement gesture. He then asked for the address, which I provided, and he said "do you really need this today?". I said yes if possible, but no worries if you're not able to. He then responded aggressively with "Fine. Then go call someone else & abruptly hung up on me." Although I've had their food before and it's quite good, I will no longer be giving them my business as this experience was extremely unprofessional and rude. After reading the reviews online we finally decided to try Mario's tonight for the first time and I am glad we did! We had a party of 5 with no reservation, yet we were seated in less than 10 minutes. Although they were busy and the dining room was full, service was excellent. Our waitress was fantastic. The food we ordered came at the perfect pace, and we never wanted for refills. You can taste how well prepared and home cooked the food is. Everything was full of flavor and delicious. My only 2 complaints (VERY VERY MINOR) have nothing to do with the food - dining room was loud (again it was dinner time on a Saturday so it should be expected) and parking is tight.
