We're in the area for our family's summer vacation. We were looking for a quick option for dinner on a dreary, rainy day. We were in the mood for subs so I found D'Angelo nearby.
We have three young kids with us and we let them order their own food because it's good practice for them. We had never been to this restaurant before so we needed a minute to figure out our orders.
D'Angelo has a phenomenal employee named Shayna (Shay). She was very patient with our kids as they worked their way through their orders. Shay also kept complimenting and encouraging her fellow employees. She would say what a good job the cooks in the back were doing. When there were no customers in line, she'd come out to the dining area and wipe tables and pick up trash.
Shay made our first ever visit to this restaurant a very enjoyable one that we will tell others about. She is a great face for the business and is so kind to customers and employees alike.
If Shay isn't a manager, she should be. Thank you for an awesome experience.
I almost forgot to mention that the food was delicious as well. The order was prepared perfectly and our...
Read moreAs someone who works in the food/hospitality industry (25+ years) consistency is such a rare thing these day’s especially given the current state of the world we are in. This location is the only place in town that everytime I order I know it’s always going to be good, fresh and exactly what I’m hoping it should be. Dot the manager and the other woman who I’m blanking at the moment for a name that’s been there forever with her believe she is a manager are the backbones of this place and this place wouldn’t be able to run as smoothly or as consistently without them. Everyone but especially in this town is so overworked and understaffed and though somedays I can understand why the people who choose to show up might have an off day if this location does you’d never know. I hope someone from actual Corporate sees this because genuinely this industry is very thankless and you only hear when things are going wrong but you have some very valuable employees working for you in a town where places are closing left and right due to lack of help I hope you take...
Read moreCame in to pick up my $63 online order in the lobby. It wasn't ready yet so I just sat down to wait, no big deal. While waiting for my order the woman cooking the order continued to loudly talk about the spelling of my first name Geoffrey. Once or twice fine, but it was a good dozen times while my order was being prepared. "Geoffrey with a G isn't spelled with an O" "That's not how you spell Geoffrey". Now it's not the end of the world but it was loud and really unnecessary. Granted she probably didn't know I was sitting in the very first booth waiting for my order but it is the principle of it. I have been managing stores for over 20 years and would be mortified if this happened in my store. Next time maybe you should take a peek around to make sure who you're talking about isn't sitting 100 feet away from you. I'm also impressed how who I assume is the manager on duty just sat there and allowed her to continue on about a customer with other customers present. That seems like a back-room...
