Based on reading all reviews on this page, from 7 years ago to now, this business has had many business practices where customers left happy and appreciated , however, their are various customers, past and present, feeling not cared for, appreciated, or valued.
First,
Why don’t they accept refunds?
Next,
Why pull a gun out on a customer? In what way was that the appropriate response?
Here’s what had happened…
The customer went there with a family member to order daiquiris and tripe. When they ordered and received their food, the customer noticed a distinct salty taste to the food. In addition, the food was burnt in preparedness and unappealing. The customer got the attention of the working person there, and discussed the inquiry about the taste of the food. First they were informed that the food was not cooked with salt, then when they mentioned the burnt texture and unappealing characteristics of the tripe plate. The customer was told that the business does not give refunds. It is pictured on their menu, however , that wasn’t the customer’s inquiry. The customer initially did not want a refund, they wanted a solution to their issue with the food. That restaurant prepared the food. Any inquiry about the food should be addressed by them. When they mentioned that they would not give a refund or provide any other solution, the working person slammed the glass window closed. The customer knocked on the window to get their attention. Then, the customer overheard that person yelling at someone else in the building. Next, the working person comes up to the window with a gun, and as the customer said, waved the gun around. They exchanged verbal aggressions towards each other. Then the working person expressed they would contact the police. The customer expressed they would also, and was the initial person to pick up their phone to contact the police. When the police arrived, they talked the customer and was informed of what happened. They went into the daiquiri shop and spoke to the workers present. They then told the customer there is nothing that they can do, you know how laws be lawing, and asked the customer to leave. That customer was informed by the staff that they are banned from the daiquiri shop , as if that solution effectively addresses the harmful and violent social interaction that they had with the customer. The customer just didn’t want salty tripe or rude verbally aggressive people attacking them over food that they prepared. It would be more beneficial to the daiquiri shop that they adopt better business practices. In addition, training on customer service. Learn how to be with the community. In order to best serve them. Or disband, we don’t need the violence .
I find it interesting that this building used to be owned by Black people, and was sold to white people, with white workers; which matters in the racialized South of Louisiana. Due to being in the heart of the hood, I find it interesting that most of their negative reviews are spot on 6 years ago to now. It is telling that the theme of the negative reviews are related across the 7 year time span. The same business practices of ill prepared food, rude behavior practices, violent body language, and absent of any people oriented care still is doing those things, just now, their violence has been more frequent and increased. I suggest they disband and try again next lifetime. I suggest they stop treating people horribly and give it up, cause it curtains for any racist, violent, business in Louisiana that doesn’t support the local community. Providing merely pork and beef parts with alcoholic slushes. will not sustain your business of violent practices when they are other business, racism free , that provide these same things. It’s unfortunate this customer encountered this. I wish them well. I wish all the people well who had to be subjected to this toxic business.
