I wish there were negative stars. A while back I was in the habit of buying breakfast for my assistant every Friday to show him some appreciation. Hardees was the perfect choice until this store on sagamore parkway Lafayette, IN. I picked up breakfast and took to the shop where I found a long black hair in my sandwich. I had no time to go back so I called. Instead of offering to make it right or apologizing, the manager informed me that all of their people wore hair nets so it could not have been from them. Yes, he said that. I did not go back for a long time. I love the food, so I eventually tried again. My order was wrong on several occasions, but I went ahead and ate it because my time is limited on my lunch break. Today I ordered a new Bacon Beast and a tea. I waited for over 15 minutes before I tried getting the guy's attention. He was sitting in a chair in the office in plain view playing with his phone. He finally acknowledged me and told me "We were waiting on fresh meat to drop". What does that even mean? If you are going to try and explain something to a customer, please do not speak in the lingo only your coworkers would understand. After 5+ more minutes I finally got my sandwich. The guy treated me as if my impatience was what was the main problem. I drove off agitated. I grabbed the sandwich to begin eating and my hand met the cold. I started double checking in disbelief. The bacon was cold and limp instead of hot and crisp. The cheese was cold instead of hot and melted. The bun was cold instead of warm and soft. I was livid. I parked the truck and went inside to the counter and tossed the bag down and asked for a refund. The manager on duty told me that He could not give refunds, only the general manager could do that. Yes, he said that. He told me that he could make me another sandwich (in 20 minutes) but he could not give a refund. I kept asking and he kept saying the same thing. I expressed that I thought this store sucked. He gave me the tired Covid era excuse that they were short staffed like everyone else in town. I told him to hire people. He offered me a job. Smart Alec responses always work. I should have told him how wrong he was. I go to fast food places everyday. Chic-fil-a puts me through a line 3 times as long as Hardees today in 5 minutes tops and I leave with excellent food. Wendy's is the same and so is just about everyone else. This store consistently takes longer than they should and has a culture of minimal service. There is a problem at the top and it trickles down. Other fast food places are doing a good or even great job and providing great service even in these tough times. Management change is needed here to change the culture of this store. 12/30 - went back and my order was filled smoothly and the food was fresh and tasty. I will always give places multiple chances because I know it can take a lot of time to make changes when you have a restaurant.
They just can't get orders out. We saw three people who had been waiting 20 plus minutes (we did too). I informed corporate about the situation (employee walkout). The district manager got in contact with me and said to come back - he was working on turning the store around and gave me his hours he'd be there. We entered the store to find the person at the register giving 'another' (her words) refund. The customer was on her lunch break and couldn't wait any longer. The other customer waited but was at the end of his lunch break. The district manager, said to have been there, was not present. The day manager offered to call to see where he was. We declined. I called the district manager back myself. He was at another store, not even on the way in to this store. The employees need help and maybe more training on food prep timing. They couldn't keep any of their stock starches and proteins made. Witnessed some mild bickering due to the stress. Read moreI wish I could give NEGATIVE 100 star on the service. It’s ridiculously slow and awful.I got in drive-through line at 12:26 pm and finally got my food at 13:13 pm. I stayed in line for 30 minutes without moving at all. When it’s my turn to order, I had to repeat the order 3 times, the man who took my order was rude and seemed irritated, he even couldn’t figure out what is my drink. I said lemonade twice in a very clear way and he asked me “Dr Pepper ? “, what a big difference!!! When I pulled to the window for payment, the water from the roof dropped into my car and on my coat. My right arm coat was all wet. They also failed to give me the receipt. When I talked to the manager Carrie about the slow service, she was not apologetic at all. Didn’t say sorry at all, no explanation, just said refund of my money. when I asked her if my food was ready, she said yes, but I had to wait for another 5 minutes to get my food . I was here waiting almost one hour for my order. What’s the point of driving through? When I got home and found out the lettuce on the chick sandwich was withered, yellow. Not fresh at all. I will never ever go back there. It’s not worth it, wasting your precious time in driving through!!!
