Las Brazas Taqueria — Restaurant in Lafayette

Ordered food to go. Never been to this establishment before. But our family does eat Mexicana food at least once a week. We have tried almost every authentic mexicana restaurant in town, always satisfied. However after getting home and seeing that our food we ordered was made from canned meats, really dashed our hopes. Tasting it upset us even more. because we wasted $40. On definite canned meats. Chicken and pork were undoubtedly canned. Very watery, bland, and tasted like cat food looks. Same texture. Only one bite was taken from each persons order. It was that bad. Very disappointed that they chose to go cheap w the meats. We ordered the toastadas, pork and chicken. Tacos. One of each meat. Chicken quesadilla (very soggy, falling apart). Tasted and saw no cheese on anything. Chicken nachos were very soggy like cereal, and watery. From the canned orange looking shredded chicken. Fresh, delicious, and authentic! My family loved the selection of dishes. We tried the weekend special of Birria de Borrego, which was served with fresh corn tortillas, cilantro, onions and limes. We ordered chips with salsa, freshly smashed guacamole, and queso. We also tried the tacos al pastor and pollo tacos. The sauces that were brought to our table were a perfect accompaniment.
