KOK Wings & Things — Restaurant in Lafayette

I never write reviews but after lunch today I felt I needed to. I decided to try KOK on my lunch break for the first time and when I walked in (@12:05 PM), there was only two tables. I thought it was great because it wouldn't take too long to get my food...well that didn't happen. I ordered the boneless chicken special and after 3 minutes being there (loaded fries bbq sauce/ranch with chicken) for $7.99. When I got my order it was wrong and it was taken back so they could fix it. Meanwhile, as I wait again, the people that arrived after me had already gotten their food, ate, and left. Now it's 12:50 PM, so I finished my ice water and have to get my food to go, this is when I asked for the check. The $7.99 special turned into $12, reason being because I have been charged for my ice water!! I don't understand how frying chicken and pre-frozen french fries (because how they look and taste) takes so long when there are only 2 other tables eating. Another painful thing to mention is the actual chicken size is mediocre for a ridiculous price. I could go to another establishment busy as hell and it not take up my whole lunch break. Yeah...I won't...

This was my first visit so I was unsure of how to order, but I was excited for the wings! We ordered naked wings (regular) with sum nasty sauce (sweet and spicy) and fries. The fries were well seasoned, and the wings were super wet. We also got honey drip (honey garlic rub and BBQ) these were really good. The BBQ sauce was stronger than the rub, so you lost that garlic but I think it added sweetness to the sauce. We also go loaded fries (BBQ and Ranch) these were tasty, but I wasn't a huge fan of the ranch. We also tried the plain chicken tenders and they were DELICIOUS. Definitely not "plain" the breading was well seasoned and the meat was well cooked. The spice level for everything was nice and not over powering. The wings were well cooked and the meat came right off the bone. The serving size was OK for the price, we were full and not disappointed or wanting more. The food was great and we were walked out and that was a nice experience that made us feel welcomed and appreciated for our business. Easily the worst experience I’ve ever had. Walked in and got asked about dine in or takeout and we wanted to dine in, so they walk us to the girl seating people. She proceeds to tell us that “there are no tables and it’s a 2 hour turnover and we close at 10, sorry”. So okay, no biggie. We walked back inside and asked if we could order to go and just eat it at the tables inside of the togo side that are open.. because I’m looking at a table of 4 right next to me sitting and eating. But we got told that we can only sit and eat our food there once the “dine-in” area closed which was at 10:00 (it was 8:30 at the time) but again, i’m looking at people sitting and eating there. then we see plenty of open tables. so long story short, don’t have high expectations. only good thing that came out of this whole experience would be the loaded fries which is my only reason...
