We door dashed the food. It was fine. Travelled well to our house. The biggest problem we found was that for $12 per item it really lacked in worth to us. There were no vegetarian protein options and many of the options didn't really feel complimentary of each other.
I got a basic broccoli and cheese baked potato. It was cooked well and tasted fine. But when a baked potato runs me back $12 not including tax it should be a FIRE potato.
The mac and cheese we got was not bad but not good. The veggies that were added didn't really add much flavor and the cheese sauce was relatively watery.
The biggest I personally had was paying $12 for a grilled cheese that was worse than a grilled cheese from Sonic. The crust was so hard and chewy and the sandwich was barely cooked. We only had cheese on it because it was for a child but there's no kids menu so we had to pay for the adult version.
It all just feels kinda lazy and not well thought out. That being said i hope they're successful and get better. But when I can feed 5 people from Taco Sisters (with way more food) at the same price as 2 adults and a child from Shane's Mac Bar...I probably won't be returning to Shane's...
Read moreWent with my friend. We each order 2 mac bowls one to sit down and eat and one to go. Plus we each got a white chocolate bread pudding. I also got a minute maid lemonade. My two Mac bowls. Ham, bacon, and chicken (something tasted off about the ham) cheese sauce was way 2 dense. Second bowl was the Alfredo bowl. It was okay. I wouldn't buy it again though if I am being honest. The white chocolate bread pudding is great. No complaint. I hate most bread puddings so I am super impressed there. I paid $45 for my two bowls, bread pudding, and lemonade. I was expected to be wowed by this mac bar. I was frankly disappointed there. Mac and cheese is my favorite comfort food. The atmosphere is great. Love the decore. I would recommend finding an easier way to place an order as I had to repeat myself 5+ times as it was hard to hear each other. I will try it again in a few weeks see if my opinion changes. Hoping next time I am amazed...
Read moreMind you, I'll be perfectly honest (because that's the only way I know how to be).
When Shane Vallot posted this was coming out, I wasn't excited. I'm not really a Mac n cheese fan BUT I tried one from the OG regular with Chunks of chicken and it completely changed my mind .
They also do potatoes, I had a brisket potato last night that was very good.
I think restaurants like this that let you customize will always win bc you can get whatever you like & the restaurant gets to charge for each additional topping, making it more profitable BUT I like that stuff.
It's like Pizza Artista but with Mac & potatoes.
And yes they serve the same bread pudding. Which I had to get one of each flavor.
I had loaded Mac at a place in BR once and it was just meh. This was better. All the ingredients looked fresh to me (and not subway 'frozen' fresh).
The staff were also super cool and we chatted a bit. That makes...
