LaGrange Tavern — Restaurant in LaGrange

Met my son-in-law for lunch, as we sat outside on the front porch enjoying the day I decided to try the new "Chunky Hunky", their answer to the dearly beloved, and now gone, Joe's Hungarian burger. Was a decent imitation but I feel needs to be refined if it wants to compete head to head. Found it to be a bit "dry" for my taste and could have used a few more onions & shrooms. Ordered fries on the side and they were crispy & plentiful. Our hostess, Amanda, was on spot and pleasant, a true delight.❤️ My son in law had the stuffed peppers and the chicken sandwich, both were "DEEELICIOUS", according to him!! I hear the tacos & wings are more reasons to stop at the LaGrange Tavern, guess I need...

I said I would return and here I am, a year later, to try the Chunky Hunky burger again, A lot has happened in a year! Amanda & Barb has done sooooo much here at the Tavern, but I am here for a retaste of the local replacement of the defunct Joe's Hungarian burger. Those girls not only matched Joe's they improved it, not only duplicating Joe's sauce but using fresh peppers, onions and butcher ground beef with Amish, thick sliced bacon. Those 2 seem to be able to do so much in the kitchen and service is top notch. Mr.Turtle NOW gives Amanda, Barb and The LaGrange Tavern ...👍👍 Give them a try...

Haven’t wrote a review in a while but it’s my second time here for the wings and the patty melt. I always get the sauce on the side anywhere I go like I did here. The wings are always the right kind of crispy without even asking. This place is a hidden gem in the hopes that it stays hidden for its character as the locals are a great part of it. I’m only writing this review because of the 2 bad reviews I saw. I just don’t see that...
