Coolers Icehouse — Restaurant in Lake Charles

This place is incredible. We come visit Lake Charles probably once a month & wanted to find a local bar with a down home atmosphere. This is it ! The staff was amazing, super friendly & super welcoming. We tried the Brisket bread, Turkey & Bacon Wrap, and the cheese bread. All of it was amazing. I’m telling you, the brisket bread was the best thing I’ve eaten in Lake Charles in all of our visits. The meat was tender & juicy, the BBQ sauce was perfect, not too sweet, not too tangy. The side of cheese to dip it in was flawless. It’s a homemade cheese sauce they make in house. For drinks, we tried the Frozen cocktails. I had the Caribbean Martini & the Chocolate Covered Banana. Both were awesome. A couple of those Martinis will have you feeling right ha ha ! We loved this place & it will be a “must do” for us everytime we come to Lake Charles. Ordered over phone and when we arrived to pick up orders staff was courteous and friendly. Have ordered here before and food was excellent. Picked up orders and returned home Upon opening sandwiches I noticed light bags when normally sandwiches have weight. Open sandwiches and noticed my Papa Special was significantly light on meat and plentiful cheese and mayo. The order was incorrect also...

That house poboy is the bomb. I like it better than Darrels only because it's less of a soggy bun. Other than that, I couldn't choose between the 2. I think they are cheaper than Darrels as far as the poboy goes. I had one of their daiquiris, but it didn't do anything for me. I'm sure they have better ones. Things are tight. I didn't feel like wasting money...
