My friend had a bachelor party and we found a place to sit down on the high top to the right of the grab n go station. We waited for over 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us. When the waitress did, she said we couldn’t split the checks individually by seven. We asked if we could split it by 2 or 3 instead. After going back and forth on that the waitress said we can do it individually on the checks and said to wait a minute. After she came back she said we couldn’t split them individually so we left. It was during the rockets playoff game too so we finally left and found somewhere else to eat and watch the first half of the game. After we left we came back since we wanted to watch the second half of the game and we decided to sit apart. This time we sat where the other the other high tops were at. A new waitress came by and asked if we needed anything. My friend said he was going to pay and was by himself and the waitress walked away. Eventually we went to the bar but they told us we had to close our tabs after we ordered our drinks. I just got one beer and decided to sit on the sofa in front of the screens. A few minutes later another group came up and the watiress took their orders without any problems. I think they saw us coming back and decided not to serve us in general that night since they remembered us from earlier in the night. Very disappointed as we wanted to place some wagers didn’t even get to do that as we felt it wasn’t worth our time or money. The staff needs to be retrained and be able split checks amongst a large group and acknowledge us and not hold a grudge because we decided to come back and enjoy the games. Never wanting to go back...
Read moreWe came into town excited to check out the DraftKings Sportsbook after hearing non-stop hype back home in Houston about how it’s the best place to watch games and hang out. Honestly, it was a complete waste of time and money.
After already spending about $2,000 on a cabana and pool day at the Golden Nugget, we wanted to catch the Rockets playoff game. At first, the waitress said splitting checks for our group of 7 wouldn’t be a problem — then came back and said she actually couldn’t. We told her no problem, we’d just order from the bar — then she told us we couldn’t sit there if we did that. Unreal. So we left and went to a different restaurant (at the golden nugget) where they had no problem splitting the check.
Later on, we decided to give the sportsbook a second chance and came back for the second half. I sat separately, hoping for better service. Nope. A waitress asked how many were in my group — I said “just me” — and then got completely ignored for 20 minutes.
I went to the bar to order — the bartender couldn’t even be bothered to say a word. She made eye contact, didn’t greet me, didn’t acknowledge my order, just threw a beer at me and closed my tab like I was a burden. Meanwhile, the group that sat right after me got immediate, friendly service.
It’s clear they don’t care about their customers unless you’re part of a bigger party or spending insane amounts of money. We ended up taking our business to a different sportsbook and casino that actually knows how to treat people right.
We won’t be back — and we’ll be making sure everyone we know avoids...
Read moreThe bar is decent if it’s not busy, but a few of the newer bartenders are really slow, even when it’s not very busy. The sportsbook however is nothing more than disappointing…and I actually win. They often have people staffing the desk that “can’t payout” you tickets and you have to wait for the person that can to get back from break. Also, the folks that “control” the televisions don’t know a home run from their who hah and asking them to change a channel (even if it’s to replace an informercial or a game that’s on from 8 years ago-replay) to a game that’s currently playing, they act like you are putting them out. I typically only use the kiosks because they have better personalities than the staff at the desk-no joke. The only time I use the desk is when they MAKE me, for bets over $1k or $10k in total payout. I honestly would never tip these folks the service in general is THAT bad. It’s not like I expect help with my picks, I just want the minimum customer service and they fall short, just about every time.
Edit: asked MARSHA to put on a game (there was only a UFC fight and 3 MLB games active at the time), asked her 3 different times and she didn’t know mariners from padres. Then called me an asshole and got me kicked out. Lol. Hmm. I can’t wait to cash my next ticket and give...
