I don’t often write reviews, in fact I only write them if my experience was really good or really bad… unfortunately this one was really bad, which is so sad because I was really excited to have a Whataburger so close to me. All I ordered was a single honey butter chicken biscuit. That’s it. No meal, nothing. Just the single sandwich. I sat at the drive through for 40 minutes waiting for my food. Cars upon cars who ordered after me got their large bags of food and left before me. Multiple people came out and asked what the name on my order was/what I ordered, but no one brought it to me. About 20 minutes in one of the workers said they were waiting on the biscuit which would be ready in 3 minutes. And then another 20 minutes went by with no HBCB in sight. When they finally brought my food the guy apologized and said that some how my order got “bumped to the bottom,” which is actually insane and impossible because the guy assured me 20mins prior that I would get my sandwich in 3mins. The guy gave me a chocolate chip cookie hoping that would make up for all of my time that they wasted, which was a nice gesture but obviously my time is worth more than a chocolate chip cookie, so I asked to speak to the manager (which again, I hardly ever do) and they sent out a shift lead, so when I asked for a refund she had to go back inside and get the actual manager. She came out and I calmly explained my situation and asked for a refund. I even showed her my receipt to prove that I ordered around 8:40 & didn’t get my food until around 9:20. She started giving me excuses saying that they just opened recently, that some people were waiting up to an hour and a half yesterday, and that I just needed to accept it. You better believe I sat there for like 5 minutes talking with this person until she finally caved and wrote on my receipt that I could get a free hbcb next time I came in. Is this ticket gonna earn me another 40 minute visit if I go back? I guess we’ll find out.
I’ve worked in food service before, and I understand the struggle of being busy and struggling to keep up with orders, which is why I tried to keep calm, but if someone asks for a refund after 40 minutes of waiting, you shouldn’t be giving excuses, you should just apologize and give them the refund. You simply put toppings on a bun and you have to cook burgers. It’s 2pm on a Sunday , there’s no cars in the drive through. I’m waiting for my mobile order. It’s been 11 minutes and I ordered a burger and a kids meal. I just want to know why I have time to make an order, wait long enough to feel like writing a bad review, open your google page, write an entire paragraph and still wait. I’m watching two employees stand outside and talk and laugh. You ruin your own day by not doing your job correctly, how can you even stand it? In Texas you can atleast get your food , all the Louisiana locations the employees are in utter shock that burgers are being ordered and they have to make them. They are so shocked they can’t even make it. I’m just gonna keep writing in this review until I get my food. I guess I have all day. Uh oh more customers are getting here, will you start making burgers or ???? By the time I got to speaker to order I decided to stay & order because I had already been waiting for forever, right? 10 more minutes go by before a girl comes on the speaker, sounding like she couldn't care less & says "ummm, i don't know if you still wanted to order but likeee we're out of like a lot of things and we're like super busy sooo, that's up to you" I asked if they had stuff to make a whatachicken sandwich and she said "uhhh no i don't knowww we're like reallyyyy busy and out of a lot of things".... so you're telling me i waited 35 minutes PLUS another 10 just to listen to you tell me that? I drove off & guess what, there were only 4 cars in the parking lot & almost no one inside. Thanks for wasting an hour of my night.
