First time visiting, and we’ll definitely return. We had an early reservation in the first unblocked section, but the space stayed pretty empty - so don’t let not having a reservation stop you.
The atmosphere is fantastic and a big upgrade from the previous tenant. It’s perfectly lit - dark enough for mood, but with just the right spotlight on your table to read the menu and see your food.
We started with the margarita. I was skeptical since I don’t usually enjoy spicy cocktails, but it turned out to be one of the best in town. The blend of blanco and mezcal works beautifully with the pepperoncini garnish. I could drink these all night.
The menu itself leaves a little to be desired. The appetizers look appealing, but none of the entrées jump out as must-tries. We ordered the lobster French toast, which was more like a brioche hot dog bun smothered in lobster bisque. The portion of lobster was generous - a must-order if lobster is your thing. Honestly, it puts Gordon Ramsay’s lobster risotto to shame. The truffle fries were another highlight - simple but excellent.
For entrées, we chose the signature fish and the chicken cordon brie. The fish was under-seasoned and disappointing - not bad, but not worthy of being the namesake dish. The chicken cordon brie, on the other hand, was rich, cheesy, and impressive. As a fan of the dish, I was very happy with their take.
Service was impeccable - well above expectations and prices were very fair, which makes me eager to return. I’d order the margarita, truffle fries, and chicken cordon brie again in a heartbeat. Looking forward to exploring more of the...
Read moreWhat an experience 😍 we arrived for a 7:30 reservation and I hope I can successfully express how lovely of an experience this was. A candle lit vibe, as the sun set the staff opened up the beautiful velvet curtains to let in the romantic sunset ambiance. I enjoyed a raspberry drop martini, which was refreshing and absolutely delicious, beautifully garnished with a fresh sprig of rosemary. The server was so sweet, so attentive especially once made aware of dietary restrictions, you can tell that the staff here takes pride. Absolutely order the caprese salad, it was the most perfect way to start our meal. A mixture of both fresh red tomatoes and crunchy green tomatoes topped with burrata cheese and a balsamic glaze, I was blown away, it took everything in me not to lick my plate 😂 I enjoyed the eggplant which was so perfectly fried and accompanied by an array of Mediterranean flavors, my husband had the duck, which he said was beautifully seasoned, tender, juicy, and the potatoes and sauce complimented so well. We shared a side of ratatouille and I will most definitely be ordering this item again next time. The flavor was spot on, I could have easily eaten a whole plate my self and called it a meal. We enjoyed a beautiful creme brulee and a sort of lemon trifle for dessert, both loaded with fresh fruit 😍 I felt just so spoiled. This was overall just so lovely. Even the owner took the time to visit our table while we dined. This establishment has limited dining, feels exclusive and special 😍 I'll be hunting for excuse to have my husband treat...

I recently dined at Augustine in Lake Charles, and it truly deserves a five-star rating! From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped by an amazing atmosphere that perfectly balances sophistication and comfort. The decor is stylish and inviting, making it a wonderful place for both a casual meal and special occasions.
Now, let's talk about the food! Every dish I tried was exceptional, featuring beautifully cooked steak and fresh seafood bursting with flavor. The presentation was just as impressive as the taste, showcasing the chef's creativity and skill.
What stood out the most, however, was the friendly staff. They were genuinely attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and eager to ensure that my dining experience was perfect. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced my meal.
