This has been the worst experience I've had in a hotel. It was actually laughable when we walked in the room how bad it was, and we joked about it with our friend who had not yet arrived. The 2 queen room was insanely falsely advertised and the beds were so close together and in such a small space that you couldn’t walk on either side of the beds or in between them.
The smell of chemicals was so horrendous that we did anything we could to not be in there until we had to sleep. We also noticed that one of the headboards was crooked and again laughed at how much we had paid for such a bad room. I joked that it was 20x what I would have paid for an equivalent room in a hostel, and said that a hostel honestly may have been better.
The pictures on their website are SO FAKE, they are literally from a completely different hotel, it should be illegal for them to be posted.
The kicker was that when we got home and we’re getting into bed, at 2am, the headboard that was crooked fell off the wall onto the floor, leaving broken wood and nails in the room. We talked to the front desk who said they would “take 10 minutes to fix it” and upon seeing the damage, said it was a much bigger job than they had realized. They said we wouldn’t get hurt and that we should just sleep in the room w the headboard disconnected. We told them to remove the headboard with broken nails and wood shards. We asked for another room, which they were unable to provide.
In the morning we left our information with the front desk who said that we would receive a call later that day. We called several times each for the following three days, until our numbers were eventually blocked and we could no longer get through. We called from a 3rd party number and were able to speak to someone who gave us an email.
After communicating the issue through email, they refused a refund because “we stayed in the room despite the issue” even though it was 2am and we had no other options.
While it is genuinely FUNNY that this place is so bad, please don’t get caught wasting your money here. You will most definitely be disappointed when you get there and NO ONE wants to risk their safety.
Avoid at all costs!!! The location to the beach still doesn’t make it worth it. They should be charging $15 a night and just turn it into a hostel and tbh then maybe it’d be worth it.

Read moreI have never written a review before in my life. However, after my experience at the Belmar Inn I feel obligated to let everyone know to avoid it at all costs. Do not let the front appearance fool you! Upon checking into the room we were greeted with dirty carpeting on the floor, dust filled tv, dresser what-have-you, and a musty old smelling aroma that would be conducive to breeding dust mites and probably bed bugs (we thankfully didn't find any... but I'll update you if these elusive creatures wound up coming back with us into the house without us knowing). At first we decided to open up the blinds to see whatever view was out there... well the blinds fell down on us because the devices that hang up the blinds were broken. There were no curtains. The tv has about 5 channels! I was shocked since every hotel I have ever been to recently gets almost all of the major channels. Well not this hotel. I think if I had a few antennae or tin fold I would have gotten more than whatever package they have through direct tv. The bathroom was filthy... a spider was living in the corner and it seems like the web has been there forever. We were given 1 towel even though the reservations said it was for 2 people. We avoided showering for 3 days because of the condition of the bathroom. The sink was held up by 2 extension rod legs... My husband and I got absolutely no sleep because the bed was so uncomfortable, we were paranoid about getting bed bugs and the walls are so paper thin you can hear anything. We constantly smelled pot while walking through the halls at any given time of day. I'm sure there were other drugs being sold or purchased. The cleaning service never came to tidy up the room either (this surprised me most of all as I have been to tons of hotels and this has NEVER happened when I have stayed more than one night). Overall, the place is extremely close to the beach but for the money I paid, it is NOT worth it... don't even leave a tip... the place is incredibly filthy and I'm praying there's no bed bugs hiding anywhere in my bags or clothing (just did a preventative load of hot wash in the washing machine...
Read moreThe staff there were very kind, but the rooms and hotel itself definitely needs a good update. I am kind of scared of the ceilings there as they look pretty old and there is no elevator there or no bells and whistles in your room, and I want I mean by that is it is just a bed, tv, table, and bathroom. Don't expect anything special to be in your room, but do expect something special to be found in your interactions with the staff. Good-hearted and kind and down-to-Earth people. Was kind of shocked at the security deposit situation since I don't remember reading that on Booking.com, but I am thankful for the discount given to me on that since I could not afford it since I had already bought the trip over the app. Where we live, we don't have to put down $150 security deposit to stay at a hotel that we already bought. I'll be honest and say that part kind of ruined vacation for me since I was planning on using that to get dinner with my family. Not everyone has money laying around like that. That would've been about $400 total I would've put into staying at that hotel for just three days for just a small room that was not updated at all.. however, I am thankful for the people I met there who work there. They're good vibes are the only thing keeping this place afloat right now I feel. It was a quite stay for me, however I did come on Sunday and leave on Tuesday, so anything could happen over the weekend, however, the security guard and boss here would not allow that kind of behavior. I could tell they had strong souls. Thank you and God bless. Overall, it was about what I was expected it would be. Ocean in sight...
