My wife, my son and I stopped in on a Sunday at around 3.30 or so. The place was not crowded at all....but shortly after the place was filled with people. So to me that is a good sign. We found this place online and it seemed interesting...I was drawn to the fish tank appeal because my 5 year old loves watching fish swim. It wasn't just a small fish tank...it was huge and took up the whole back of the restaurant....I have to admit it was rather cool to see that, and my son was mesmerized. The food and service were very good and our waitress was very nice and attentive. I have this habit of ordering chili whenever I see it on a menu just to see what it's like. They had chili on the menu and they said that it was a meal on its own. So I ordered that...and a side salad. I always enjoy seeing what another person version of what chili is....and this was a pretty darn good chili. It's wasn't super fancy...just a basic chili with cheese and sour cream on top of it...but in it's simplicity there was a deliciousness to it that was very satisfying...it was very good....it also came with two pieces of garlic bread. The portion size on this chili was also impressive as it really was a meal in itself. Very very good indeed. The side salad was also very good as well....no cheap lettuce...it was a bit of a green delight that again was rather generous in size and the blue cheese dressing I had with it was very good as well. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich which she found rather delicious and she said the coleslaw that came with it was very good as well. So the food and staff were very good...but the ambiance of this place really seals the deal...I can see why people like it here....the inside is just beautiful to look at with it cabin like appeal...the golden glow of the wood paneling and logs spaning the length of the restaurant are nice to look at. There is an assortment of taxidermy and other random nature and outdoor like elements that tie everything together nicely. And then there's the aforementioned giant fish tank of Wisconsins finest freshwater finned friends....oh....and the giant tree growing in the middle of the bar. You have to see this place to appreciate it's uniqueness....get some delicious food....enjoy the inside...and the outside isn't...
Read moreCame here for drinks. It's only a 5min drive from our resort. Outdoorsy and rustic, yet up-to-date. Decorated with whimsical wildlife figures that makes you think are alive. In the back there's a 4,000 gallon aquarium that holds local fish. In addition, some of the stained glass light fixtues pay homage to the Wisconsin Badgers. In the center of the bar is a tree that looks like it grew inside the pub. Tammy our bartender made the best $4 Bloody Mary with a beer chaser. It's part of their Sunday drink special. She also told us that Sunday is also broasted chicken dinner night. I ❤broasted chicken. It was almost closing time, but Tammy managed to get our order in. She also told us that they have an ayce fish fry on Friday that includes broasted chicken.
So we came back on Friday and had the happy hour half off drinks and the ayce fish fry. Luckily we got in there when we did because it got crowded and people who came in after us waited at least half an hour for their tables. The buffet station is small, but it includes: 2 types of fish cooked 3 ways, broasted chicken, macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes & gravy, green salad, potato salad, cole slaw, boiled veggies and marbled rye bread. Hopefully I didn't leave anything out. I only went back 2 times because I have to take into account that I have 2 pints of Spotted Cow to finish. Too full to have any dessert. Wish I had as many stomachs as a cow. Definitely would...
Read moreCourtney, Courtney, Courtney, remember this name! My wife & I came in around 9:45 a.m today, Monday morning 9/22/25 for breakfast. Rivers Edge is always a great value for food,, quality, price & service, especially today for the service. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by a sweet young lady to sit where we like. Courtney was her name. This review is about her and her amazing attitude and work ethic. Courtney was working the bar, serving drinks & food there. She also worked the entire dining area, taking orders, serving food, bussing tables, answering phone calls & collecting payment. She literally ran from one area to another, never once losing her smile or asking to make sure we were all doing ok. Customers kept rolling in and all received the same welcome. We got exhausted watching her, yet amazed at her efficiency & attitude. We wish we could have helped her, she was on her own since 7:30, help was supposed to arrive at 10:30. We were out by 10:50, no help yet! At a couple points, some kitchen staff did help deliver food, thank goodness for them. Management / Ownership is extremely lucky Courtney was there! She deserves a big fat raise, bonus or some extra recognition. It’s a shame other help or a Manager wasn’t available. Courtney never once complained, just plugged away with a smile! Any Resturant would be lucky to have her! Courtney is an...
