Bobber on The Lake — Restaurant in Lake Elsinore

If this is a 4.8 star restaurant in Lake Elsinore, either that’s telling how bad all the other restaurants in Lake Elsinore are, or the reviews are fake.

We went there in September for lunch. And our surprise it was Oktoberfest. We didn’t expect Oktoberfest to be celebrated in September but apparently this restaurant celebrates October in September? Because of this, they also scrapped their normal menu and had a special and very limited Oktoberfest menu. We asked if they could not put onions on the hamburger since we are allergic… And the waitress said there are no modifications. We thought that was weird since they have to put all these things on to the hamburger in the first place, asking them simply not to put something on definitely seem possible. She explained that it was not possible because they were as she said “turning and burning”… again, this was weird since there was less than 10 people in the entire restaurant and she explained that for speed purposes, they couldn’t alter any menu items. We explained that it would actually be quicker for them not to put something on a hamburger than to put it on and then have us take it off. again, she said it was impossible to make any modifications. By turn and burn she gave the impression that they were getting orders in and out as quickly as they possibly could. We didn’t get our order for over an hour, which again was weird since there was virtually nobody there at the restaurant. food was below average and because of Oktoberfest in September they had doubled their prices. The hamburgers were nearly $20. The chicken nuggets tasted oddly very similar to McDonald’s chicken nuggets. And I mean exactly like McDonald’s chicken nuggets as if they literally ordered them from McDonald’s, put them in a cardboard nacho type serving dish and gave it to us. There is 0% chance that we will ever be back regardless of if they offered us free...

We have been in Lake Elsinore for a few years now and we finally decided to try the Bobber on the Lake restaurant and it was good. I mean the pulled pork was good but the portions were a little bit small for the price. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day. Bad choice! Once we were outside and they brought out our food the cool breeze made the meat hard and cold which made it kind of inedible. The brisket that we ordered was dry like beef jerky!! The taste was good and it would have been better if we sat inside. The onion rings were good and my hubby got the coleslaw which he said was just ok. Not much flavor to it. Because we chose to sit outside and the wind kind of ruined the meal, we decided that we would give them another try and this time we would sit inside so that our meal doesn’t get cold like that again. There is a lot more on the menu that I would like to try. So I’m sure we will give it another try. The service was great! Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The restaurant looked nice and clean too! They even have outside games for the kiddos to play! So If you’re ever in the Neighborhood of Lake Elsinore Ca and are looking for a good burger or bbq place to eat at then you might want to give this place a try. We will give it another chance soon! I’m sure it will be a better experience .

Update; My family and I decided to go check out the open mic live band they had on Sunday. It was awesome how many artists played that day. We had a few drinks too. I had the bomb pop slushy which was bomb!! My husband had the strawberry lemonade, slushy, and my daughter ordered. I think a margarita. They were very good. We had a great time and will...

1st time here today with my wife and daughter. I will say the atmosphere is super cool and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I was impressed with the staff. This place could be absolutely amazing with a step up in their food. My wife ordered the brisket sandwich and it had no sauce and the brisket was dry. The smokiness of the meat had a great flavor but still needs help. I had the Ortega burger. It was not that bad of a burger but like I said it could go next level with some help. My garlic mashed potatoes had a decent flavor but we're not creamy and they were very dry. Like I said the staff was awesome and the atmosphere is spot on but the food needs some help if I am being honest. This is not an insult to the restaurant but a criticism to try and bring your menu to a better place. The location is great so try to make the food even greater. Honestly I am a very good cook that pays attention to every little detail when it comes to my food that I prepare. I don't believe the owner is to blame but the cook in charge either needs serious training to perfect the meals or they need a replacement. This place can seriously be amazing if they fix this.
