Foodstuffs Gourmet Foods & Catering — Restaurant in Lake Forest

I’m never one to really write reviews but my boyfriend and I went here to grab some sandwiches before heading to the beach. I got a cold sandwich with their honey mustard sauce and my boyfriend got a chipotle chicken panini. We were hardly greeted and the man taking our order was very cold and hardly any communication on whose sandwiches were who’s (ours or the people in front of us/behind us). Both were wrapped in plastic and extremely wet and soggy. Both pieces of bread were covered in sauce. The chipotle chicken sandwich had very few pieces of chicken and was all mayo. Needless to say, both sandwiches were a mess and we only took two bites. A waste of $30. Everything they make is quick, fresh, and 100% YUMMY. It’s my go-to place every time! But here’s the cherry on top… if you’re like me and love a little food inspiration while you eat, they have a fantastic collection of cookbooks you can browse while you’re there. I actually found the perfect recipe book for pears on my last visit—total game-changer. 🍐💫 Seriously, check them out sometime. You’ll leave full, happy, and maybe with a new recipe to try! 💖🍽️📚

My 4 stars is because there was one guy/staff that does not like to follow my instructions on my salad bar request for 2x ... ;/ I will give him more chances...

I stop by foodstuffs frequently for my lunch breaks. Their salads are pricey but delicious, I can easily get two meals out of it. Their sandwiches are priced amazingly for the size they are. While these are both amazing, their soup is what has me writing this review. There is a large selection of cold and frozen soups to reheat. There are multiple hot soup options that switch daily. i have no idea what soup I just ate (thai chicken maybe?) but it was one of the best soups I've ever had. So thankful that it's finally cooling off so I can eat their soup daily. I haven't had many of their baked goods but everything looks amazing....
