Cafe Marzocca offers great coffee and service. Unfortunately some regular clientele are downright rude and take serious issue with small parking communication. The parking lot of the cafe was full except for a few unlabeled tandem spots. Typically, tandem parking spots are for long term customers or staff, and since I was planning on staying for 30 minutes +, I parked in a tandem spot. Ten minutes in and I am politely asked by a gentleman to move my car and I see two other men making judgmental comments at my expense as I get up to move my car. My husband had parked in the last tandem spot and the group of folks gathered were scoffing at him and taking issue with the parking situation. The person he was blocking wasn’t even in their group - they just had to make it a personal issue I suppose. My husband took notice to this and addresses the group saying it was an odd parking situation and we haven’t been there often. A man in the group tells us to not come back to the cafe. Being apart of this community, I am disappointed to hear such disrespectful, entitled behavior over something this small and manageable. I understand people get comfortable in places that they frequent - but come on,...
Read moreI came in after my father's funeral and the staff was incredibly rude to both myself and my husband. You could tell there was definitely a classist vibe. We are low-income and both work in customer service, but we always tip well and act polite. I don't expect service workers to be peppy or smiling, but basic human decently would have been nice. The menu was also dishonest. The sandwich I ordered clearly stated on the sign that it came with peppers and onions (not bacon, which is what it came with instead of vegetables). If you change the ingredients in a menu item, especially if it "was changed over a month ago" like I was rudely told after receiving a sandwich filled with meat and no vegetables, the change should be listed or at the very least verbally communicated to the customers. The person behind the counter rolled their eyes almost every time I tried to say something or ask a question. They even rolled their eyes when my husband said thank you and tipped them (before the whole sandwich debacle). I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you like rude baristas and...
Read moreSome of the best coffee around! However, on multiple occasions I have been blatantly cut in front of by people who seem to be the shop's "regulars". Today I had been standing in line for a couple minutes, a man walked up right in front of me and the barista asked him, "the usual, Joe?" or whatever his name was. Started making his drink, and neither the rude customer nor barista acknowledged my presence or apologized. I felt totally disrespected. If this happens again, I would probably say something to both the customer and...
