Bentley's — Restaurant in Lake Ozark

Bentley's has been around for a long time here at the lake. The last time I visited was over ten years ago so I was curious to see how things have changed. Let's start with the good things. The service was outstanding. Many servers waited on our party of five and frequently refilled drinks and removed plates. They were very kind and professional. Second, the bathrooms were clean! Albeit dimly lit, but noticeably clean and that is a good sign for a restaraunt! Parking is plentiful but be advised it is a little hilly. They are handicap accessible via the front door. Now for the improvements and there are some important details that are greatly lacking. First improvement needed is a change in menu. I understand I'm a vegan eating at a steak house...I get it. However, I need something to eat when going out with the carnivores! In this case, it was a salad with vinaigrette and for dinner, a side of steamed broccoli (reference picture) with no butter added. Luckily, I like salad and broccoli but after I had dinner with my party here, I left to go eat an actual dinner. The server was not very knowledgeable about what dressings were vegan. It is imperative and sooo easy to make a vegan alternative. A simple pasta dish with vegetables would do. It's filling and quick to make. A few people in my group said their food was great but one person said they order the same time every time they come because they don't eat steal so it was chicken piccata for them. The final improvement would be a change in layout and redo of indoor decor. It looks just like I remember it over a decade ago. Very dark inside. Our table was where everyone walked past to go to ther tables and was a tight squeeze with tables being right behind us. One of the owners was hard at work making sure everything was running as it should and that is always good to see! They were very nice about the shift in our reservation time as well. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning with future groups because it just isn't a good fit for me as a vegan and without viable options it really takes away from the experience. With a few modifications they could have a place where everyone in your party can find something to eat and...

I made reservations for our Wedding Anniversary dinner. We arrived at our reservation time and were seated. We had experienced a much different atmosphere, previously, when we chose this restaurant for our Anniversary dinner. We were herded into a very cramped table, at our 5:30 pm reservation, with most of the few patrons compressed into this conner section. The noise level alone, was like eating in a cheap cafeteria, certainly not a higher level restaurant, like Bentley’s. There was a table of four, very loud, persons at arm’s length next to our table, which made our conversation nearly impossible. We order our meals, their infamous Prime Rib. The waitress was mostly attentive. The meals were undercooked and cold upon delivery. The side dishes were, to say the least, uninspiring. We finished our dinner, took rather large portions of our undercooked, over priced, Prime Rib with us and left, never to return to this establishment again.

Overall, we rate Bentley’s poor. Seating, especially, when there were many tables unoccupied, very poor. Atmosphere, far too loud when compressed into the conner section. Waiter services, above average, mostly attentive. Food, undercooked, poor presentation, side dishes unimpressive, Prime Rib, nice cuts but, way overpriced for quality received. Overall rating of dinning experience at this Restaurant, a disastrous result and certainly below...

We’ve been coming here for years.... my husband and I came here for the first time in 2010 right after having our first baby (almost 11 years ago) and fell in love with the food and service. We then came for our first anniversary, 6 months later and Sandy was our server. She was so sweet and accepting and accommodating that we came back every year sometimes several times in the year. We ended up asking for Sandy every single time we would come here. Flash forward to tonight (May 15, 2021) we brought our beat friends who had never been here before. Again, we requested Sandy and she delivered as always. Her recommendations are always spot on, her service is friendly and she’s one of those people you want to be friends with outside of the establishment. She makes the experience memorable. Tonight we had steaks, crab, escargot, and more. Everyone at the table was more than happy with their meals. As always, Bentley’s came through on a magnificent meal. I will always recommend Bentley’s over any establishment in the area for their exceptional service and food. Thank you Sandy and staff for another quality evening...
