Iron City Sports Bar — Restaurant in Lake Township

This place is a bunch of missed opportunity and mediocrity. This may be a personal taste thing FWIW, but the wings have that fried non breaded greasy thing going similar to roosters but not as good. I'll give them that, i have certain taste for wings.

But the nachos are disgraceful. $11 for a plate of tortilla chips with cold meat, cold beans, cold cheese and sour cream. The pico was old or canned or something. It was a 4 dollar item if I'm being generous. A nit pick here, but fresh jalapeños are the only way. Pickled jalapeños are for barbecue and sandwiches.

The nachos really show the laziness. Nachos are a low cost, low labor item. It's all markup for the business. That's an opportunity. Blow me away with your nachos. The nachos absolutely kept me from ordering an entree. If you're going to do these I suggest doing some recon at other restaurants. Meat beans and chips should be hot and the corners toasty. Drizzle with hot cheese. Then pile on top some fresh pico, cilantro, lime wedges and salsa Verde. Dollop o daisy on top and bobs your uncle.

Another nit pick, learn how to pour Guinness.

I harp on this because I want to help, I want to like iron city I love the legacy and nostalgia of the ol wingers building. But I feel like I get fleeced overtime I go.

You're running an eatery in a competitive market. I'm sitting at your table, you have my audience, just keep up your end of the bargain and keep me entertained!...

I ordered the bacon cheese fries and Cobb Salad. My friend that was with me had the chicken tenders and fries. The Cobb salad and tenders were pretty good... Nothing to write home about but again pretty good. However the bacon cheese fries and my friends regular fries were DISGUSTING! For starters please start offering plain sour cream. I requested sour cream instead of ranch on my fries and the “sour cream” didn’t even remotely look or taste like sour cream. Or at least inform your guests of the difference. The fries were either made in very very very old grease or they had been sitting forever. I explained to the waiter how bad they were. I ate two bites of mine, my friend sucked it up and ate about 1/2 of hers. The waiter did not bother asking me if they could remake the fries so I ended up simply wasting them all. If that’s not bad enough I get my bill and WAS STILL CHARGED FOR THE FRIES! I had to point out AGAIN how the fries looked and that I barely touched them. So then he finally took my fries off but still charged my friend full price for her fries... Like is this real life? I have worked in restaurants for many years. I have never, in my 43 years, seen DARK BROWN fries! Not even in fast food! Let alone a “decent” restaurant. We will not be back and I will attach photos of the fries if...

The food was delicious however the service wasn't great. I stopped by on my lunch break so I had limited time. Our server brought drinks and menus but never came back to take our order, I had to track her down and tell her we were ready. So we order and after about 30 minutes she comes back to the table to ask if we had ordered yet? We tell her yes you already took our order it's been quite a while did you turn it in to be cooked? She goes and double checks and then comes back to tell us yes she did turn it in. So now we've been here for about 45 minutes. Five more minutes go by and a different server brings our food out everything was correct and looked good. But about 2 minutes later our server comes out with the same salad I ordered and tried to give it me. I told her I already got my food I didn't order two salads and she seemed really confused. We ate, the food was delicious I had the Cobb salad and mashed potatoes. After we were finished I had to go find the waitress again to get our bill because we were running out of time. I'm assuming the our server was new or had just started. We still tipped her but the place wasn't even busy there should of been someone helping/watching her to make sure service...
