Sunday 5:00pm I picked this place because it boasts that the food is prepared fresh. 15 minute wait for the freshness. The Asian bowl was good. Could use more seasoning. Huge portion. Ginger sauce helped add flavor but still needed salt. The catfish & shrimp was not good nor was it catfish. I’ve had fresh caught catfish as well as catfish at other restaurants. This was some type of white fish and not traditional cornmeal breading. The fries were some weird processed potato. Not even shaped like a straight fry. The shrimp were over cooked and rubbery. It does have window seating (bar type with stools) to sit and eat but no table seating. Not suitable for small children or the elderly. There’s also outdoor seating at picnic tables with umbrellas. It didn’t satisfy enough for a return trip but I would recommend to try it if you are looking for fresh somewhat...
Read moreWe are new to Bellefontaine and have been pretty underwhelmed with the food options in town. Took a chance on this place and it did not disappoint. The peel n eat shrimp was the favorite - I was craving shrimp and it was exactly what I needed. Delicious. Really great potato skins. The fish n chips were great. You get a good fish to breading ratio and they have the breading down - super crispy. Tasty fries. My only complaint was that the breading was a smidge too salty. But the tartar sauce helped a little and it was the best tartar sauce I have had anywhere. Same deal with the fried green tomatoes - great quality, but a smidge too salty. If there was any other seasoning in the breading, I missed it because of the salt. Overall, will be coming here again for shrimp and fish! Great quality, fast and...
Read moreI’m a foodie from Boston and have spent 3 months in Bellefontaine. Chefhouse is the best food in town without a doubt! They can cook anything… meats, fish, wraps, bowls… anything they have on menu is made as good as it can possibly be. The owner truly has a passion for what he does and it trickles down to the staff. They’re super kind and friendly, and even more so hard workers. This is one of the best if not best family owned restaurants I’ve ever been and being from the north end of Boston, that’s what the entire city is. So finding something like home all the way out in Ohio means a lot. If they haven’t received an award yet, someone’s not looking hard enough. Wish you guys the best, if I’m ever in town again… you know exactly where I’m eating… And don’t forgot get to ask about...
